Rodahn isn't really wrong about Valentine's Day being depressing for single people in general. Yes, he's been a little more vocal lately about how being single sucks. He does that from time to time. That doesn't make him wrong.

Give it a **** rest already. Are there people who celebrate being single? Yes. Most of them are lying through their **** teeth. I'm single, and I'm doing alright, but I'm not running down the street singing the "I'm happy I'm single" song. I don't have the time right now to devote to a woman to be considerate of her needs, and all that other good stuff that a healthy relationship requires to function. Being single is better for me at this point in my life. But I wish I did have that kind of time.

I know being in a relationship can give you a headache. I've been there. Those women drove me **** crazy, but that's alright. At the end of the day, with all honesty, it's better than my hand. Trust me on this, I've done the research.

Honestly, that seems like the only positive to it all. And that's if you can trust them to be clean. Which I can't. Because people are liars.

Valentines day is getting cheesy and commercialized.. It's overwhelming to go out and see all the hearts, Teddy bears, candy, sexy lingerie..all making you think this will make things wonderful. It's stupid. I had all that crap, means nothing. What I want to do is forget it.

I'm stupid and allow it to bother me and make me dwell..

What I need is a Valentines day exorcism...get rid of all the old memories, then start fresh.

I need a guy to wear a loin cloth and dance around in a circle while chanting a valentines day memory purging chant..

Maybe I've been watching too much Buffy, but it could work..

You should have been at the Burlesque show I went to recently. Big muscular guy wearing a one sided thong doing a pretty physically impressive pole dance. More or less purged my wife of any coherent thought.

See, on the surface, this sounds awesome. I mean who would turn down such a thing?

But then you realize...

Only once a year?

This v'day, I'm making myself breakfast in bed, sending myself little post it notes and got a big tub of green tea ice cream to go with a horror flick...

Sometime during that movie, I will be annoying my other friends with spooky phone calls ^-^

I am scared to ask but I can't resist... wtf is a one-sided man-thong?

On women it is. The front is usually much smaller though, less to stuff in it.

Valentine's day does suck if you're single, or recovering from a relationship. I recall major suckage back then.

That said, it's not any different from any other holiday. If it's not something you're into, just don't participate. It's a lot less obnoxiously over-the-top than the commercialization of Christmas has become. Hell, it's less obnoxious than Halloween in a lot of ways.

I loved Valentines Day when I was single.

To quote a wise man:
"Might as well be called free blowjob day when you're single."

In case you're wondering who that man is, it's Lenas.

So... Lenas and Vindi, when you were single...the girls didn't charge you on Valentines day?

They do charge, but did so through loopholes called "time" and "cocktails". I still consider it free as I look at it as investing in my own mental well-being ;)
