It's amazing how far a voice carries when it speaks righteousness.

Seen this posted a dozen places already. That young man has a future in some career that involves public speaking.

It helps I'm sure that he is talking about something that he truly believes and affects his own family. It helps that he is using his own life to back up his statements.

And as Rynar said above, that too.

From a comment on this video: "Apparently the threat posed by same-sex couples is that they raise staggeringly articulate, overachieving superhumans as children."

I don't like how people throw around "discrimination" like it's such a dirty word. It's hypocritical when many of those same people support statutory rape laws, which discriminate based on age.

Anyways, I used to be against same-sex marriage, but now I'm for it. People seem to really want it so no point in denying them.

I've maintained for the past eight years that most people really don't care. Even back when gay marriage won Bush the 2004 election, most people didn't give a rat's ***. Only 1/3 of the population actually voted in that election.

I'm not gonna lie. I don't care either way. If they can, great. If they can't, no sweat off my balls. I'm not invested either way.

Live and let live. As long as they don't try to legislate I have to marry someone of the same sex, I have no problems with them

Is this about gay marriage again?

It's testimony from a very charismatic, intelligent, well-adjusted straight man about his life growing up with two women as his parents.

It's a mediocre video, no need to watch really. His only point is "I grew up with 2 lesbian parents, and I turned out fine, look at me. We need gay marriage."

Yeah, that's what I thought. *yawn*

The sad double standard being if he gave this same speech and talked about his straight parents, he would be picketed, slandered and called a homophobe.

Actually, the double standard is that if he gave the same speech talking about his straight parents, he'd be every normal person in America. Nice try, though.

I encourage you to watch the video and make up your own mind on it's merit. Lex's comments are not an accurate representation of the video.

Uh...no? Nobody debates that straight parents can effectively raise children. The point is, straight or gay, male or female, doesn't make a difference. One of the only practical arguments against gay marriage is this unsupported nonsense that children need both a man and a woman for parents (nevermind that less than half of children get that anyway). This man is proof that gay women can raise a child just fine.

As a heterosexual male, I am deeply offended by your claim that two godless fag parents might be better than one straight one.

That about sums up the attitude of America in general.

Your racist slurs against Americans offend me as well, but it's about what I would expect from a godless fag like yourself.

I still think you're much better off with an accessible mother and father.

You're probably better off with two gay parents than a single parent.

It has more to do with the quality of the parents, than anything else, but if all things are equal, see above.

Regardless, one anectdotal statement is in no way indicative of anything. You can find any number of children who are succesful that grew up with a single parent. Or in a foster home or orphanage. The point is, statistically, growing up with a single parent is not the best way to go. That's what you need to look at, but statistics are much more boring.

I have a video that is at the very least just as good(I would probably assume better) than this one that features a woman who survived an abortion and now goes around talking about. She speaks of love and forgiveness even though her mother and a doctor tried to kill her. One of the best videos I've ever watched. What are the chances it will change your mind about abortion if you watched it?

I didn't know that females can be described as fags. Even so it's not typical usage.

I'm thinking you might be making a bit free and loose with the language here. What?

I really have no idea until I watch the video.

But just to be clear, I'm not really actively trying to change anyone's mind here. At most, I'm perhaps hoping to expand some perspectives, but mostly I'm just sharing what I think is an amazing speech.
