We just saw one get torn down largely from Internet collaboration. I don't think any have ever been created when millions of the populace are online. The Internet has a great democratising effect.

Was just curious, because I know China has its "Great Firewall" but obviously they have had one regime or another in power forever, so the internet has likely been controlled there since its creation. I know it's not a dictatorship but embarrassingly my knowledge of other countries is limited and they're the best example I could think of.

One was torn down, and will be immidiatly transitioned into another one.

Maybe for a few months, but then they'll have elections and you'll be wrong.

I seriously doubt that Egypt is going to be able to engage in that kind of electoral fraud without anyone noticing, you can get away with changing the result if the vote is close, but if two thirds of the country votes one way they're not going to be able to steal such an election in secret.

We do it in this country, and you don't think they can get away with it in Egypt?

No, no we don't. You're going to need to provide some evidence that 20%+ of the votes cast in this country are either not counted, erroneously counted when they should not be, or have the vote changed.

Pay much attention? I have never seen anything to suggest massive vote fraud on that kind of level. I'm sure a few illegal immigrants manage to vote but it's not on the order of 25 million people. The two-party system has nothing to do with vote fraud BTW, you can still vote for whoever you want and that vote will be counted.

You need to do some serious studying of American voter fraud. You are, simply put, currently living in a fantasy world. Do the research.

Oh, I've read such claims. They're all conspiracy theory bullshit that label as "vote fraud" such things as states mailing absentee ballots 40 days ahead of time instead of the required 45, or ballots that are claimed to be misleading or confusing.

You of all people shouldn't be labeling misleading or alleged "pre-selected" ballots as fraud. Regardless of what it looks like, you're still signing your name to it and turning it in. That's on you if you didn't understand what you were doing. For someone who thinks that a person should be able to sign away everything they own because they did not read or understand page 27 of a contract's legalese, this is especially hypocritical.

None of these things are vote fraud. Information campaigns by Democrats or Republicans intended to keep people home on voting day are also not vote fraud. Sure it's unethical, but it has nothing to do with fraud. Vote fraud is when someone not eligible to vote somehow manages to submit a vote anyway, legally submitted votes are discarded or changed, or fictitious or dead people somehow cast "votes."

No, you're living in a fantasy world. Shut the **** up, or provide some evidence. That means real, imparital evidence, not some wanktard website that practically has "bias" plastered across its front page.

Well can we accept the historical voter fraud of the Tammeny hall, and Chicago machines? Recent ACORN scandels? Is Rynar referering to only historical voter fraud or more recent attempts?

How about Al's win in Minnesota? The margin he won by was oddly similar to the amount of ineligible felons in custody they found who had their vote counted. Of course it was too late when that one was found.

Egypt has had elections for a long time. What makes anyone think that this "orderly transition" to quote Obama- is anything but transitioning to the next person that will run 3gypt for another 30 years?

Elections are hardly a solution to dictatorships. Some of the worst dictatorships of the past hundred years have had their roots in "the will of the people."

Their culture is more barbaric in general, so their governments tend to act that way as well, regardless of technicalities such as dictatorship or democracy. However I'm still pretty sure this will turn out fine.

Lex said he's pretty sure it will turn out fine; now I'm reassured. Whew, that was a close one.

By the way, absence of something bad happening means it turned out well. I'm going to re-open this thread in a year and say I told you so.

The aforementioned dictatorships were in "civilized" regions of the world. Egypt is going to end up with a government nearly identical to the one they just ousted.

Like I said, if the vote is really close like in Minnesota you can get away with stealing it via fraud. You can't steal an election where a supermajority votes against you through fraud and expect nobody to notice.

Why do you believe the major media have disregarded exit polling, when formerly it had been such a reliable predictive metric?

In other words, you have no evidence whatsoever other than just your own outrage that things aren't going your way.
