Hrmm, visually stunning film from the director of 300 with obvious anime-inspired hot schoolgirl vs samurai vs dragons, etc, with the trailer soundtrack from Lords of Acid?

Yeah, I'll go see that.

I'm expecting no story, but some amazing live graphic-novel style visuals.

My concern with this movie is that at the end she gets a lobotomy and everything that happened in the movie was all imaginary and nothing is changed.

Just got back.

It's so pretty.

I love the cinematography.

Mookhow, the entire movie, I was thinking, "If somebody asked Moo or Crim to make the perfect movie, but then told them at the last minute that it had to be live action, the combat sequences in this movie are what they would come up with."

Reviews are, predictably, pretty terrible. I don't really care. I never expected this story to be amazing, I only expected it to look amazing.

The story wasn't terrible. It's not gonna win any Best Screenplays, but it's an adequate vehicle for the rest of the movie, and it has a few interesting nuances.

Just got back.

Opening sequence is great - sets the story and mood.

I believe you could do the whole movie in a manga with all text as icons - like a prohibitory sign for 'And I'm calling it off' and it would be a fantastic manga which could sell in all countries.

The tour of the setting lost the suspension of disbelief so I wasn't immersed in the setting.

Not being immersed in the setting, I could look and say:

1st fight: good.

2nd fight: Had the weasel guy from The Mummy, a bit of Batman II, and was pretty good.

3rd fight: If you're a purist, you may really hate this fight. Overall, it could have been better, but is enjoyable to different levels by different people.

4th fight: The weakest of them in some ways. Very nicely done in others.

5th fight: Poetic but too brief.

Mystery: Not that big of a mystery.

Overall, I like it, but I didn't love it.

My friends were comparing it to the new Tron or Matrix 2 (you remember? The fan-made sequel since everyone agreed that Matrix 1 was too good to diminish with sequeldom?). I think that is too harsh.

My cousin went and saw this and said it was **** terrible. I generally trust her when she says something is terrible. I might catch this when it hits HBO or Showtime. But I don't think I'll be paying money to see it.

This sounds like the perfect thing to play on my other computer while I play Black Ops.

That was definitely an interesting movie. I liked the action sequences, and I enjoyed the soundtrack.

Plus hot chick + twintails + sailor outfit + swords & guns + kicking *** = yes thank you.
