Scroll down a bit and look on the right side for the video titled "Oliver's Goal On NESN"

Linked to the Mites hockey team site because I can't get to the Youtube video from work, and also to dispel any doubt about the authenticity of this.

Unreal goal made more unbelievable by the fact that it is a 9 year old doing it.

EDIT - The video isn't working on the site I linked now for some reason. Just do a google search for Oliver Wahlstrom and you'll find the video

Haha, the goalies reaction is the best part. "Hey! What did... who... where is the... what?"

Great shot.

Wow, that's amazing. I've seen some NHL guys try and pull something like that and have it fall flat.

Wow, that was nuts. Thanks for not sticking it in the Sports section; this is something everybody can marvel at...

I'm with the goalie on this one. Watched it ten times, still can't figure out what he did. Pretty cool.

It's a gimmick shot. He scooped the puck up onto the blade, spun and basically threw the puck into the net. While fancy, it's not something you'd want to make a habit of.

Yeah, I'd imagine there's a hip-check coming your way if you would do that more than a couple of times in the NHL.

Heck, that'd be a cool video, too.

The only reason the shot worked is that it was unexpected. It was not particularly hard or fast or well positioned, it was just surprising. If you made a habit of it, it would cease to be surprising.

That said, to pull off a shot like that you do need some very strong puckhandling skills, and I have seen similar goals in the NHL. It's almost always a strong goalscorer getting creative that pulls off something like that, not often some grinder you've never heard of.

Well yeah it's a gimmick but it's a good one. I've seen it done from behind the net more often to just stuff the puck in a top corner as most goalies (understandably) are only concerned with ice level from behind the net.
