NADH - 3 ATP per ETC
FADH2 - 2 ATP per ETC

all in all....

36 ATP during cellular respiration...

NADH is called Ned in my class
FADH2 is called Fred in my class

Sue breaks down the CoA (Bob) in the CAC.

Acetyl CoA: "Bob" is the trasport to the CAC. And Bob has ***** tits.

Why did the Dr. name the parts of the process with those names? Who knows.

Just be glad they don't make you memorize the entire TCA cycle.

Hehe, our advanced biochem teacher made us memorize all of the catabolic and anabolic cycles... As well as the exact chemical reactions taking place at each, mechanistically. Fun class.

His test would have questions like:

30 pts: Bob and Phil want to start body building. Bob will be eating on this schedule (insert schedule of foods and times here) and working out on this schedule (same) and Phil will be eating and working out (in some other way, with schedules). Explain, using biochemical pathways and regulatory mechanisms who will bulk up faster, and why....

I had to learn that at least 6 times. In both h.s. and college. It got old.

Apparently someone has resumed Tesla's experiments of passing electrical signals through the body. I found a whole webpage about it.

That honestly surprises me. I wouldn't expect a HS or even a college level biology class not for science majors to require memorizing it, at least not to the extent of being able to reproduce Squirrel Girl's chart from memory.
