Workstation at work is apparently 9.85 gigaflops. *shrug*

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought this.

I might be able to win for the Slowest machine: .34 Gf. Yes, that's .34. And this is my Win 7 laptop. Maybe it has something to do with being behind firewalls, etc.? Didn't look into how they do the testing.

There's something wonky with this test.

My wife's 1.8 GHz mini desktop with 1 gig of ram got 3.31, whereas my work computer with a 2.8 GHz dual core processor and 4 gigs of ram came in at 2.80.....

Your wife's computer is running less **** than your work computer. She has more free cycles to devote to this test. It is also possible that the browsers you're using contribute, since this is a web-based test.

Same browsers, same editions- and I wasn't running anything else on my work computer.

So, you're the current person at #1 Recent? Nice. Massachusetts + i7 @ 5GHz sounds like Lex.

2.83Gf on my laptop, not blazing fast for certain, but it's fast for it's size and the i7 just wasn't worth the money over the core 2 duo given that there's no faster video card option for it.

Surprisingly my UMPC is 1.16Gf, my work computer is 12.49Gf, not bad for a 4ish year old workstation.

What type of processor exactly is it and when did it come out? What semiconductor manufacturing process was used? (65nm, 45nm, 32nm, etc.) Clock speed alone doesn't mean much anymore. Also maybe you have a really old version of Flash, or something you don't know about is sucking up your processor.

Yup.

I just tried my laptop that I got as a graduation present in 2005, and it got 0.49.

Well depends on the game, my laptop's 2.83 is fine for every game I've tried on it at max settings, though granted I don't have any super CPU intensive games.
