No it wouldn't. I paid out 62% this year. So, kindly, go shut the **** up. Yes, that's right, Uncle Sam or some other government gets 62 cents of every dollar I make.

36% in income tax. 5.9% in FICA. 4.8% in Medicare. 5.2% in Social Security to Uncle Sam alone. So, please, stop talking about **** you don't understand.

Wow man. I feel for you. that's just sick.

You go ahead and keep demonizing me. I've said several times before that my ideal form of taxation is a flat income tax with no exceptions/deductions. It's 100% fair but interestingly enough conservatives tend to hate the idea because it would actually result in the "rich" paying more taxes than they do now

Didn't you yourself just admit that at "extreme levels of earning" the wealthy are not subject to "punitive taxation"?

I'm also kind of curious how you reached these numbers as the FICA tax IS the Medicare/SS tax, SS tax is capped at the first $106,800 of income, and the Medicare tax is 1.45%.

I'm just going on what I know. I don't know your personal situation. What I know is liberal wealthy people have come out and said they don't pay that high of a percentage of their income to taxes. I also know that the millionaires in Congress with all the power aren't going to tax themselves and their rich contributors into oblivion like you suggest.

I'm giving you the numbers I pay as a self-employed individual. Those are the actual numbers from this year's filing. Uncle Sam can go suck my **** dick.

Who is demonizing you? I'm demonizing the ones who believe that inequality of outcome is the result of wickedness alone.

Well you know, Khross is rich so **** him. I think it's great that he feels entitled to the money he gets paid to sit in his richy-rich ivory tower, but I've got a crack addiction to support.

Khross might be rich, but he's obviously not too smart, or he would have found all of those loopholes Xeq was telling us about...

Look at the first line graph, Xeq. Now, note in the lower left where it says "2007 dollars." That graph, where even the bottom lines are steadily creeping up, is adjusted for inflation.

Allegedly, inflation covers cost of living. Factor in lifestyle, and that graph is claiming that our personal wealth is growing faster than the economy, and so eventually we'll have things we never dreamed of.

I thought everyone on the board agreed that the CPI is at best worthless and at worst total bullshit lies based on the exclusion of the volatile commodities: food and energy? (aka sustenance and warmth)

Oh, I agree, yes. But when you cite a graph as evidence, I generally assume you're asserting that it's a valid set of data.

When even that data doesn't represent what you're saying, I'll roll with the assumptions inherent and point it out.

Can you elaborate on this?

Why wouldn't the sources and amounts of tax revenue be your business? And if it is your business, why wouldn't the income levels that support that be your business?

I put this in the favorite Glade quotes.

The default assumption made when presenting information in that light is that "the rich have too much money so lets take more of it". It assumes that the gap in wealth between nebulous classes is somehow compelling evidence for one or more of those classes to steal from others or engage in other punitive actions. Its not, it never has been, and I am simply not interested in hearing or reading people whine about it for the umpteenth time.
