Too many options for a poll. I suppose I can try. I'm sure I'll leave something out.

There's nothing more fun than bashing religion. It's like bashing Santa Claus when I was in elementary school.

Troll much? Really, it's perfectly obvious you're posting this to get a response, and your bashing in both cases is really about getting a response.

Um...to whom are you directing this? Almost everyone gave you an answer.

Mormons are Christian.

Christian: Professing belief in Jesus as Christ or following the religion based on the life and teachings of Jesus.

I could be wrong, but I thought Mormons follow a book written or found by some guy in Utah and not Jesus Christ?

From mormon.org/values:

Quote:
Our faith influences nearly every aspect of our lives. Beyond simply believing in Jesus Christ, we try to bring His teachings to life at home, at work and in our communities. Here are a few of the cultural priorities embraced by members of the Church around the world

You need to learn some more about the LDS church LK. The Book of Mormon was, according to their mythos, already written when Joseph Smith first laid eyes on it. He merely copied it from the golden plates it was written on. That happened near his home in Manchester, New York. He moved to the midwest where he was assassinated by a lynch mob. His followers then migrated to Utah, where they founded their home base.

The Church of LDS considers both the Bible and the Book of Mormon holy books. The Pearl of Great Price is another book they cherish, though I don't think it qualifies as holy.

I've had many friends in the LDS church over the years. Some have tried to convert me.

Out of all the religions people try to push... this is probably the religion I would choose if I had to choose one.

Mormons are Christian.

If you go solely by the belief that Jesus is the savior as it says in the Bible, then yes, Mormons are christian. I know many christian denominations consider us not though, due to the differences is the nature of God and whatnot.

We believe that the Book of Mormon, that you mentioned, was given to Joseph Smith by an angel, or rather, he was led to it's location. It was also in New York, not Utah, that the book was found.

The actual name of the church is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, after all. Mormon was actually originally a derogatory term put on the church, and came from the fact that it's followers believed in the Book of Mormon. Apparently it didn't bother us so much, because it's how most people know who we are now.

I agree. I think LDS is the best religion other than not having one.

Most of the Mormons that I have met have been really good people. Aside from the trying to convert you part, they're generally respectful of your views and such. Kindness and compassion rather than hellfire and brimstone.

And as I understand it, Mormons don't believe in the triunion of those three. At least the ones that come to my door and argue it don't. And that, is why I say they are not Christian.
