No. My post makes sense, and acknowledges reality.

You started talking about things other than the topic of this thread, so your post quality is much worse.

I find it humorous this is such a big deal in the news. This isn't anywhere near the first, nor will it be the last, time that a BYU athlete has had this happen to them. It's just the highest profile one I guess.

As for the question about "investigations" BYU does, there are none. Most of the honor code violations will just result in you being put on probation, though the "more serious" ones can result in your expulsion from the school. But it is an honor system; if you don't tell anyone, no one will know. There's no PI's that go around following people or whatnot.

I think their whole basketball team (heck, all their athletes) should 'fess up to masturbation and get the whole program shut down. I mean, that's not "chaste," right? Or is that simply more chaste than sleeping with your girlfriend?

Chastity varies depending on your religion, "state in life" (married or single etc.) or culture.
Celibacy is being unmarried.
Continence is not having sex.

Well, of course there's various levels here. It's not like masturbation is on the same level as premarital sex. I've never actually read through the honor code, so I can't say what level of seriousness any particular thing would have, but I do know that premarital sex is grounds for expulsion. Beyond that though I really have no idea. I'm sure if you're really all that curious, you could probably find a copy of the honor code online somewhere.

These definitions do not mach the ones I commonly associate them. Which culture are you pulling them from?

No, dude, like this one:

Sorta back on topic...

Go go my alma matter for suspending a 22 year old player for the ENTIRE PAC-10 tournament for getting a 16 year old girl drunk and screwing her. Making him sit out the NCAAs or NIT (either one being possible at this point) would just be overkill.

Totally. Date rape is no big deal.

If he was drunk too and she consented then it's not date rape.

You are correct. However the Seattle city prosecutor is now charging him with providing alcohol to minors. Gross Misdemeanor--up to a year in jail. I just hope it doesn't go to trial until late April so it doesn't hurt our tourney chances.

And here in a nutshell is what is wrong with most competitive sports.

As for the OP, I'm in complete agreement with Vindi. And I've always had respect for BYU for sticking to it's principles, even though I completely and totally disagree with many of them.
