Sunmoon's Glade indeed started in '99 - I found it when I was searching for quest info. I started in EQb, and can't believe it's been 12 years. I quit EQ about 6 years ago, IIRC. Flies time!

I can vouch for 99. I was still in the AF in CO Springs when I first started playing EQ and I found the Glade. We didn't have real life section(which the glade rebooted is an offspring of) for a while. People started complaining that there was too much "real life" talk in the main ranger forums so Sunmoon created a sub forum caled "real life". I remember one of the first mods was a guy named Scout.

Didn't random people still go to the original Rangers Glade and ask for EQ advice all the way until 2007 or so?

It makes me depressed that I was 26 years old when I joined the Glade.

You should probably sit down for this...

September 99 sounds about right. It had only been up for a month when I joined, which was around October or so. I didn't start posting with any frequency until, like Nitefox said, Sunmoon created the RL section because people were complaining.

While not necessarily Ranger's Glade related...

I met the original Allakhazam while I was med'ing (as a wizard) in WC at the EC zone line. He was a nice enough guy.

I (unknowingly) grouped with Curt Schilling a few times. He was playing a monk and we used to do Blackburrow together. It wasn't until years later I read an article about him that I found his true identity.

And here I thought I was the noob - started poking around the original Glade in 2003 or so, looking for quest and PvP help. Someone helped me out with some decent weapons, but I cannot for the life of me remember now who it was. I was always afraid to go into the real life section, and now look at me. I probably spend more time here than on any other single web page.

I wonder if I am one of the longest remaining non-EQ playing members. I have never touched EQ in my gaming life.

I joined around 2004 wanting to see what Elmo was ranting about and have been around ever since.

Not sure exactly when I joined the Glade, but I started playing EQ in December 2000, so I'd guess sometime in 2001 or 2002.

I was 44 Talya, older than you are now. I still remember the cute little probably black dress and over the shoulder look you had in the one out of focus picture you posted early on.

Would anyone have believed we would all still be posting this many years later. All of the happy times, rough times and how much we have gleaned about each other over the years.

At the time no, but overall, I'm happy we are.

It was June or maybe July, 2000 I joined Rangers Glade...donated to help keep it going, still have the mousepads, although I gave one to my son (hope he still has it). I've stuck around all these years because I like the people here! You all are great! I've enjoyed the stories, the arguments, the debates, the help...ya'll are just great!! I miss those that have left us and I hope the rest of you stick around for a long time...you are all a big part of my every day life!
