Lol! Sadly it does seem to be true often, I've certainly however seen plenty of downright amazing cosplays from Americans, though yeah many don't seem to get the concept that for certain characters you need to have a certain.....body type....that most Americans lack because they like McDonalds a bit too much, lol!

If you want to see the worst example of American cosplay Google "man faye", though warning, you will be scarred for life.

I wonder where someone who writes in their blog demanding exclusivity and attractiveness among cosplayers fits on the Geek Hierarchy. I'd imagine somewhere on par with furries.

I go to many anime cons...

I am aware of this fact. It is quite sad and scary :\

But every so often, you see a REALLY damned good cosplay... just the ratio of good to bad is way out of sync :\

If I were to CosPlay with my body type, I'd go as a Jaeger General from Girl Genius.

Yes, one of the reasons I stopped going to cons in general is the delusional atmosphere that CosPlayers had. The other reason was that after meeting several authors my delusions of them being cool and together people were ruined. Just because you can write a good story doesn't mean you don't have to shower.

Let's fix that. Just because you can write a story does not excuse you from showering.

We had a small con at Virginia Tech every year and a weekly RPG/tabletop group. You could always tell the cadets.. we were the ones that smelled like normal human beings, and who did not refer to catching the campus bus as "declaring a charge".
