New Wonder Woman will wear shorts!

Wonder Woman fans rejoice! The Amazing Amazon will be wearing her iconic blue shorts when the TV show airs on NBC.

That's not to say the two previous costumes Adrianne Palicki has been seen in—one with bright, shiny blue pants and a second with navy cotton pants— are going away completely. According to NBC president Robert Greenblatt, the superhero has several costumes hanging in her closet.

"There was an initial outcry about the long pants—you know, skintight pants as opposed to those little shorts [worn by Lynda Carter in the original TV series],” he tells TV Line. “But the shorts were always planned. They are actually used in the final confrontation when she beats Veronica Cale [Elizabeth Hurley].”

Though fans have been critical of Palicki's costumes as well as leaked portions of the pilot's script, Greenblatt says the network isn't paying too much attention to the naysayers.

“There’s always critiques of everything,” he says. “If we listen to all of that, we would probably never be able to get the job done."

I have a feeling that if they had a more "classic" wonder woman costume in mind, they would've brought that out FIRST to appease the fans, then shown some updates.

How much press and exposure did the uproar garner? And now, they release a trailer that shows the original, and all that media stunt-generated ill will disappears. But the leaks? Generated way more public awareness for the film than something that fans liked would have, *especially* outside the fan community.

And then there was all the online blow back about the costume – which seemed to de-emphasize the patriotism and play up the comic’s Greek mythology.

Wonder Woman is dead.

I think it's the actress. I'm willing to bet if we took the first costume presented in this thread and slapped it on Christina Hendricks, then dyed her hair black (a heinous crime!) people would love it. Well, so long as the boots were red.

Christina Hendricks is not suitable for playing Wonder Woman.

She doesn't have to play Wonder Woman. It's an experiment in how objectionable the costume really is. She's the right age range, and her breasts don't look like a bad boob job.
