Actually, it surely would. The discussion would change from, "That new costume is hideous! And they're trying to make Wonder Woman look too young! She's supposed to be forty!" to, "That looks really good on her."

You're speaking to me, who has little if any interest in Christina Hendricks. Olivia Wilde, on the other hand, would suit me just fine.

You aren't really into any women who have the rack to fill out the Wonder Woman costume.

+1 to that sentiment.

It cheapens the movie.

Wonder Woman's costume is a bustier, blue panties, and a pair of hooker boots. You have strange notions of what does and does not look like it would be sold at a porn shop.

Oh, see, I took this as a knock against the quality. It looks cheap.

And it might look better if the actress didn't look like a man with bad boobs, and a permanent "I'm fierce, grr" look.

Freudian slip.

This is proof that Khross is actually into Psychomachia (and psychomachia), channeling the character Chastity. Classic example.

I personally would have liked to have seen Erin Cummings as Wonder Woman. She played Spartacus' wife in the first season. I think she'd be absolutely perfect.

She looks like she has to pass a big log in a few of those.

Erin Cummings face is too round and too soft.

New Wonder Woman will wear shorts!

Wonder Woman fans rejoice! The Amazing Amazon will be wearing her iconic blue shorts when the TV show airs on NBC.

That's not to say the two previous costumes Adrianne Palicki has been seen in—one with bright, shiny blue pants and a second with navy cotton pants— are going away completely. According to NBC president Robert Greenblatt, the superhero has several costumes hanging in her closet.

"There was an initial outcry about the long pants—you know, skintight pants as opposed to those little shorts [worn by Lynda Carter in the original TV series],” he tells TV Line. “But the shorts were always planned. They are actually used in the final confrontation when she beats Veronica Cale [Elizabeth Hurley].”

Though fans have been critical of Palicki's costumes as well as leaked portions of the pilot's script, Greenblatt says the network isn't paying too much attention to the naysayers.

“There’s always critiques of everything,” he says. “If we listen to all of that, we would probably never be able to get the job done."

My favorite response to that, from blog comments:

Oh they were? REALLY Mr. network guy? Or were they just planned after the internet went apeshit on your stupidity.

I have a feeling that if they had a more "classic" wonder woman costume in mind, they would've brought that out FIRST to appease the fans, then shown some updates.

Your publicity sense is not your superpower.

How much press and exposure did the uproar garner? And now, they release a trailer that shows the original, and all that media stunt-generated ill will disappears. But the leaks? Generated way more public awareness for the film than something that fans liked would have, *especially* outside the fan community.

That's true. That's why I would not be good at marketing (art in the service of Satan) or sales (lying in the service of yourself). :D

Really? I do not remember skintight leather pants in any mythology I ever read... or am I remembering the wrong Greek mythology?

I think it's the actress. I'm willing to bet if we took the first costume presented in this thread and slapped it on Christina Hendricks, then dyed her hair black (a heinous crime!) people would love it. Well, so long as the boots were red.

You just want to see Christina Hendricks tarted up in Diana of Themiscyra's monomolecular 1 piece. That's a noble aspiration, but it's not going to change the outcome of the discussion.

Yeah, if they'd gone with Joss at least it would've had 7 or 8 pretty good episodes before it was cancelled.
