I can understand why comedians and others self censor themselves. There seems to be a sizable minority in Islam that is just flat out bat **** retarded.

How many bibles are mocked and defaced in the US? Should Christians pick up this behavior, maybe it will curtail hollywood mocking them?

Sorry I was just reading the comments on NY times, so many are blamming the Florida Pastor with the tired old "fire in a movie theater" line, and not placing blame with the people killing.
These are they people who riot and kill over cartoons, over a teddy bear named Mohamad, over damn near anything.

My neighbor threw dog **** in my yard (thinking it was my dog's), sued me over a broken bird bath and shot my dog with a pellet gun. So I know he is bat-shit crazy and my options are: Move (2 years into a 30 year mortgage after my house lost 10% of it's value in the 1st year); kill him; try to reason with him; or stand-up to him and then just mind my own goddamn business and we both go on our separate ways. Which of these is most likely to have the most positive impact? Same principle imho. When people are bat-shit insane leave em be don't aggravate them further.

I understand protests. I understand attacks on the specific church. But I don't get the leap in logic that suggests some UN workers in another country should be killed.

I think I'm going to make a webside called "The Daily Koran Burn" and post a new picture of one being defaced at the same time as the final call to prayer is in Mecca. That way these nutjobs will keep doing this and the UN will retreat (likely) or take action. If you can make these sheep bolt like this with such little effort, might as well. Hell I don't even need to actually do it and they'll go do it.

Yeah police showed up and charged him with drunk and disorderly and discharging a firearm and me with dog at large (though my dog remained on my property for the whole incident).

Christians just have different hot buttons. It wasn't all that long ago that we had abortion clinic bombings and it was just last year that a doctor was flat out murdered in his church.

That said, there seems to be a much larger minority of Muslims that are over the edge. My personal feeling is that it's largely due to the poor conditions in most of the Muslim world, so the moderates get very little traction for their views.

Yeah, that Christian hot button of baby killing, it's a direct correlation to burning the Koran.

If you kick a woman in the uterus and kill her unborn baby, you'll go to jail for a long time.

If you burn her Bible... not so long if at all.

Both are legal activities here, so it becomes an opinion based judgement on which is worse. From what I've seen, the morals of these folks appear to put defacing the Quran as more horrific than baby killing. Christians think baby killing is worse.

I had such an ******* moment I wanted to deliver here, but it was a bit **** up even for me.

I get that they are outraged. It's probably an illegal act in their country. But the reaction is retarded. Take some horrible outrage of a crime here in the US. Let's say rape. Or hell, murder.

To respond in a similar manner, it would have to go like this. Some guy commits murder in another country. Americans are so outraged, that they attack [insert international organization having nothing to do with the perpetrator or victim of the murder].

It makes absolutely no sense at all.

No, I compared the unconcionable reactions of religious **** in 2 different religions to things that others do which don't concern them.

Aizle, you directly equated people rioting and killing many people who had nothing to do with the possible burning of a book, albeit a sacred one, thousands of miles away, with the murder of one man who had killed thousands of babies and would continue to do so if he hadn't been murdered by someone in the same locality. The only thing comparable in your "comparison" is that you don't believe in either thing held sacred.

How many abortion related violence (not counting the actual act of abortion itself which is violent) to the number of times Muslims try to kill, maim, and torture for offense to their religion?
