This is the toilet paper that I like to buy. 4 rolls lasts two weeks in our house.

This is the toilet paper my husband likes to buy. 4 rolls last less than one week in our house.

What is the deal with the soft fluffy stuff? Toilet paper is for wiping poo and pee...it makes no sense to spend twice as much money on something half as efficient.
Is it a guy thing? I've seen guys who will scrimp and save and bean count on every little thing but absolutely splurge on the softest, most expensive TP that money can buy.

So.....how do you roll??

Used to by mostly for price/efficiency, but it usually has to meet Oonagh's high standards anymore. So more often than not, we end up with soft, fluffy TP.

Ah. Yeah, I didn't think about that...there are households where the guy is not involved in the purchasing of mundane household items...
So what do you guys use and do you have an opinion?

I buy the softy stuff. If a cheap tissue hurts and leaves you raw when you have a runny-nose then I shudder to think what effect cheap toilet-paper has on your ***.

There's some compromise between the two options. My mother-in-law buys the cheapest stuff possible. it doesn't last as long because you need twice as much of it...but yeah, I wouldn't buy premium "soft" toilet paper.

Shuy...That guy is funny but very weird.
He used the word cheap, which reminds me to add that when I buy toilet paper, I don't just go for cheap...the walmart brand is cheap, but not efficient at all...you go through like 6 rolls in two days.
That's why I like the scott stuff....its thin, not fluffy, and it lasts for a long time. The fluffy stuff is pointless to me because most family members wad up like 5 or 6 layers and only one layer touches your bum really. It's wasteful.
And as far as being rough and tough, well, are you gently wiping your butt or are you scrubbing? If you have to scrub, maybe you outta adjust the fiber content in your diet or something.

Costco, huge packages and usually soft fluffy, reasonably priced.

I am at a point in my life where I can afford a few extravagances.

Like Micheal, I buy in bulk at costco, and go for the softest and fluffiest available.

Double-ply is pretty much a requirement for toilet paper.

I use Quilted Northern Ultra Plush. It's awesome. I grew up on cheap toilet paper (the brand LK likes actually) and I'd always end up using 10 squares at a time because it's so thin. With this toilet paper I can just neatly fold 3 squares at a time and it's nice and soft. Maybe it's still more economical to get the cheaper toilet paper and just use more of it, but it certainly doesn't feel as nice on your bum-hole. And the soft fluffy toilet paper makes much better tissues. I can see buying the cheap stuff if you have kids who are just going to ball up half the roll every time no matter what they use, but beyond that...

I'm not sure the brand. I know it's white, and magically appears on the toilet paper holder.

As for an opinion... no. Having an opinion may jeapordize my ten-year streak of never having to buy it.

Good lord, the stuff we have in my office is atrocious. It's so thin that it's difficult to pull it down without it tearing. So beneath each roll is a pile of little 1-inch squares that tore off when folks were trying to get some paper.

It's incredibly annoying. Not to mention the fact it feels like you are wiping your *** with sandpaper.

ROFL I love the fact that the most annoying part for you is the easy tearing... not the gritty texture against your nether regions.

I should add that I get my share of cheap flimsy toilet paper at work, etc... I'm not going to subject myself to it at home too...

I never bought TP in college or grad school - go go institutional bathrooms in the days before locks on the dispensers!

I can spend 15 minutes in the aisle, deciding which paper to buy. Price per square foot, number of rolls, whether or not it's on sale ... all these calculations. I dislike double-ply because of the ripping factor, honestly. But I'm getting dangerously close to TMI, so let's just say I prefer single-ply, with a consistency somewhere between sandpaper and Kleenex.

You count the squares? You don't just pull it off, use it, then never look back?

I buy soft and fluffy, cost be dammed, toilet paper is for wiping sensitive bits, I don't want to be using something with the consistency of news paper, the softer the better, preferably with aloe in it too. I'm all for saving money, but that's not a place to skimp imo.

This is what I always buy, regardless of price, sale, etc.
