So I found out last night (well, 1 am this morning) that I was awarded an NSF Graduate Fellowship! I'm really stoked, this is the fellowship to go for in the sciences, and aside from extending my funding, it will open up a lot of doors. And I get to book time on government supercomputers, which is great in and of itself.

The application was a pain, but winning it means that people outside of my immediate area think that my research project has real promise and potential- and lately I've been feeling like I was just spinning my wheels.

Very motivating to have other people take an interest in it!
