The Bouncing Souls - Lean on Sheena

Brings back vivid memories of time spent in my second apartment. The whole album does, but this song is probably my favorite from it. Builds up nicely as it goes along to a pretty sweet end.

Been addicted to this for the last couple of days. The accordion just sticks in my head and I end up whistling the damn tune.

Yeah, same group (Florence + The Machine). I bought the album on a whim and kinda fell in love with it.

I've been re-(re-re-...)listening to the Stars and Garters album by Splashdown lately. Lotta good stuff here, but here's a couple of my personal favorites.

Splashdown - So Ha

I love the shouting at the end of this one. SO HA!

And when I'm in a trancy mood,

Splashdown - Running With Scissors

And from a different album, music to minecraft by :p

Splashdown - Dig

This is one of the reasons I love Pandora. Hear good songs like this that you've never heard before.

Epic!

This is a new B.o.B. song (feat. Alicia Keys) featured on Crysis 2 OST. I'm just amazed by his rapping, he has a style so unique and so perplexingly confusing. Sort of like the way Twista force fits his flows to into a natural, straight time march, Bobby Ray almost does the opposite forcing them into complete syncopation. Both do it by stressing normally unstressed parts of the words with a machine gun staccato eighth-note double timed precision assault. Compare to most Twista songs (Make a Movie for instance). Here, Bobby displays his die-cut syncopated flow in spades. And Alicia Keys adds a very nice touch. This song has me itching to even buy Crysis 2.

Lyrical content is an interesting social commentary, given it's been 10 years since 9/11 and given the premise of the game Crysis 2.

I was in graduate school when CS was teaching there.

I can not watch this without remembering his epic lecturing ability, but also how he hurt and used other people.

This band has been stuck in my head since we discussed the topic in Biology class....

too bad they split up.
