"Pop" just sounds...goofy. :P

Are Mallomars discontinued? I can't find them at the grocery store. Had them on vacation and loved them. Can't find them in US though

The weapons Larry Bird wore. I always wanted a pair of those shoes but never got any.

I get the pop part, but "Coke"? You're not from the South.

I'm not sure I'm buyin' that map.

I live in Western Washington state, and I'm not sure I've ever heard the word "pop" used in this context...

I've lived in "soda" counties my entire life, from the looks of it.

The funny part is that they're also Democrat counties. See that "soda" county in eastern Kansas? Yup, lived there. It also regularly votes Democrat (it's Kansas University).

Kind of an interesting correlation.

When I lived in the DC area, there was another guy from Wisconsin there who always insisted that we call it "pop" back in the state. I thought he was crazy. Guess which part he was from? And yes, he was a Republican. Very funny.

All the more reason PA should be two states! :p

The Olive Garden used to have this San Remo seafood dip appetizer. It was my favorite food in the entirety of the world. Then they got rid of it, replacing it with a spinach artichoke thing that is also good, but... no. :( Attempts to recreate it at home have proven only moderately successful.

I know Taamar has a list, but off the top of my head the only thing I can think of is the Neapolitan style pizza from Pizza Hut. They ran it for a few weeks before they came out with the Bigfoot, and I loved it.

As an honorable mention, I also miss the hell out of the Flaky Puff. It was marketed in New England for a while, but Vachon stopped US distribution back in the 80s. Since it's still sold in Canada as Passion Flakie, it's not really a discontinued item, but I can't pick it up locally.

I also miss Ben & Jerry's Wavy Gravy quite a bit, but it didn't make the cut when B&J had their "resurrect a dead flavor" poll and now it doesn't even have a headstone in the flavor graveyard :(

I grew up saying "what kinds of Coke do you have" at restaurants.

I now live in Oakland county, Michigan, where 90% of respondents to that survey call it "pop." Proudly, my kids at least say "soda." :)

Post pics!

Here's one:

NF and I both miss these....those lifesaver suckers that had the cream flavors along with the regular flavor. Man, those were sooooooo good! I haven't had one in over 10 years. :(

Good Lord I want a blueberry one so bad.

Blueberry was awesome. I had several less than a year ago while visiting New England.

Sure, it turned your poop green. But sour grape mountain dew was wonderful. Supposedly Pitch Black (not 2) will be back this year. So it will be grape, but not sour. Not quite the same.

And on a side note, if anyone missed Mountain Dew Livewire, it's still here in abundance where I live. Not because nobody drinks it, but because EVERYBODY drinks it. It's continually restocked.

Chi Chi's (mexican like food restaurant) Seafood Nachos.

/mourn

Oh yeah, and Arizona Iced Tea with Gensing. Not the crappy green tea stuff, the regular tea in the dark blue bottles.

(if you know where to find some, please PM me).

You do know that Chi-Chi's means titties in mexican, right? No wonder you miss their nachos.

Ranch Fritos.

And it's pop.
Soda us pretentious and Coke is confusing. My ex once told me she was upset because she ordered a coke and they actually brought her a Coke. I didnt have the heart to tell her what did you expect.

I think it was called coke 1/2 or something.
I had 50% of the sugar in it, and it tasted SOOO much better! Not syrupy or anything. I only saw it in stores for a couple of months.
Also, while I don't drink pop anymore, I would kill for a crystal pepsi

And yes LadyKate I do remember Clearly Canadian. It was supposed to be "Spring Water" or "Sparkling Mineral Water" but we all knew what it was. It was pop (translation: "soda" or "coke" to some of you).

My favorite was Mountain Blackberry.
