Gia to get representation at the UN, children of Gia werewolves celebrate! Black Spiral Dancers and Pentax leave in protest!

It also establishes a Ministry of Mother Earth, and provides the planet with an ombudsman whose job is to hear nature's complaints as voiced by activist and other groups, including the state.

So the UN has descended to the same level as the US Senate now? (aka we've got nothing "more pressing" to deal with so let's grab some headlines with some stupid non-binding ****?)

Fairly certain the U.N. invented that level of uselessness.

More than that. The Senate may be at rock bottom, but the U.N. has long since started to dig, and apparently just got itself a steam shovel.

If you read further into the article it quickly becomes evident that it has little to do with "rights" for earth or bugs or trees or wht the **** ever. It's really about giving special rights to certain activist groups and more importantly to indiginous people, based on their religions.

The fact that you married a tree-hugging hippie makes this even funnier. Just for making fun of my people, I am going to cook something with tofu and beansprouts and tree fungi for dinner tonight.

PS--I also would like a video montage of apologies from all men for cutting down trees and building useless things like houses with the lumber.

Kate, those people aren't hippies. Our parents may have been hippies. (One of mine was, the other not so much). Those people are **** nuts.

Hahaha, yeah Coro, I'm aware. I spent half my life in Oregon....there are people EVERYWHERE, especially in Eugene, that are just like the people in the video. I've been around folks like that for years...they really do get that upset over anything that has to do with nature. I was leaning a bit towards that way myself until I moved to Mississippi.

Granola is awesome. In fact, granola tastes its best when you're field dressing some sort of 4 legged deer or deer relative while crying hippies argue with you.

Well, granola was the "crunchy" part of "earthy crunchy" girls, according to an ex of mine. "Earthy crunchy" conjured a specific image that I don't think she intended, given the context. Suffice to say, her clarification didn't help much, and I've always wondered wtf "earthy crunchy" girls are.

However, if Kate was also a granola eater, it may all finally be coming together.

Those people are why pot needs to be legal - they need to be smoked up all day to the point they don't realize they are burning a plant.

Yeah, I was a bit confused at first too, but it became clear once I saw a picture of the new ombudsman:

Do they weep over the pot before or after they smoke it?

What country was Ma-Ti from? The brown funny accent nation?

They may be a bit nutty, but it's a mistake to take them too lightly or you'll end up going to jail for cutting down a tree in your yard or maybe shooting a vicious dog near your kids. Some people believe that an animal dying is just as bad a a child...

Wwen, you have a point. There really are some people that react emotionally to the death or mistreatment of an animal like they would a person...I had a neighbor kidnap my dog one time and refuse to give it back to me because I didn't have it on a leash in my yard. He said I was abusing and neglecting the animal because there was a busy highway nearby. I actually had to call the sheriff (it was out in the county), who was right in the middle of a murder investigation, to come out and get my dog from this guy's house. (That was a disturbing murder...it was right down the road from me. One college kid murdered his roomate, tied him to a computer chair, cut him up, and wrapped him in saran wrap.)
