Seems like this is becoming more of a trend?
Yet another example, except in this case the student was a year over the age of consent for the state. The teacher was punished because of laws regarding her status as an authority figure, having sex with a student is illegal:

We had an incident at a local school here last month where a female high school math teacher was having sex with one of her 17 year old students, but I have no details because the judge issued a gag order: http://www.cdispatch.com/news/article.asp?aid=10426

These are just two examples, but I have seen several others in the news over the past couple of years.
