WTH. They're redoing V on ABC starting November 2. I loved the original. But do we need another remake of a show 25 years old?

I don't think you're asking the right question. It should say this:

Yes. Yes we do.

For anyone curious, previews are here. I hadn't even heard of this remake, but i'll watch it.

They gave her a butch cut...

Yet I would still hit it.

While I would by no means turn her down, Morena is outranked in my opinion by Jewel, Summer and Gina.
Just sayin'

See, while I think Summer is kinda cute... No way I could do that. If she was just a little bit older maybe.

All early reports of this show are extremely, extremely positive (and most of them coming from fans of the original series). I think one reviewer said that this show is to the original V what Battlestar Galactica is to the original Battlestar Galactica.

I never really watched V. I knew about it. I saw the 12" toy.

It was an interesting show when it first started. It jumped the shark in a hurry though. That or just watching people eat live rats got old.

The original mini-series was good, from the perspective of my age at the time when it was released, but the series itself that followed was horrible.

I will give it a shot, if it can pull of a BSG, fantastic, if it fails...oh well.

The miniseries was awesome the show was ok.

I loved V. In college freshman year we watched V the last day at the dorms - all of it.

I remember loving the series. Very blurred memories, though. The whole series runs together in my mind. It has been too many years since I've seen it.

Due to my lack of fondness for almost anything on TV at all anymore, I am sure I won't be watching this.

If you're looking to relive the miniseries and subsequent movie, Sci-Fi has them on on 11/1. The miniseries is on from 12:30-5pm, then V The Final Battle 5pm-11pm.

http://www.tvguide.com/Listings/default.aspx

On the SciFi site you cannot find much of a mention on it , except for the forums...where I saw this afterwards.

Sunday, Nov. 1:
V 1 PM - 5 PM
V: The Final Battle 5 PM - 11 PM

V 11 PM - 3 AM

Monday, Nov. 2:
V 8 AM - 7 PM

Tuesday, Nov. 3:
V 8 AM - 7 PM

I was unaware they were running the "cheesy" series also.

The most memorable thing about the original series (not the mini-series) was that Freddy Krueger played the dimwitted alien.

Watched it tonight. Not bad but it was the first episode. We will see where it goes. I just hope they leave it in the same time slot.

Pretty good. At least they aren't going overboard with the Nazi comparisons yet. And if they start trying to round up scientists, I'm going to get annoyed.

I'm a bit concerned because they kind of ran too far with it for one episode. They've been skinned already, and the resistance is forming. By the end of the season I suspect we'll be invading their homeworld.

bolded by me. This was my exact impression and problem with the pilot. The pacing was way too fast; it felt like they rushed through too much in one episode.

Maybe they are only planning on a single season? It has to be a pretty high price to film.

Haven't watched it. But maybe they are trying to move away from the whole Lost/BSG/Flash Forward trend and instead of giving you 70 new questions each episode and only answering 2 they are trying a radical new approach.

Decent. The blonde gal must have had her son when she was 12 years old. Milf. =]

Did anyone else notice that they are also remaking the Prisoner? The previews look pretty good.
