Is there a way to archive threads that have not been used in say... 9 or 10 months... so if the game is going to start back up it can be re-added. But otherwise does not clog up the page?

There is no way to archive threads. The closest analogue would be to move the threads into a sub forum, but I don't think that's a very workable solution.

Yes. I had set up the Rebooted Gaming board to do exactly that prior to the boardzero crash where we lost it. It requires administrator access rather than moderator access, however. It is not "archiving" in the strictest sense. Essentially, I had a dead games subforum set up where I would have dropped inactive games. They could have been retrieved later, were the game to be revived.

The way it worked is, for example, Kaffis and my sections would be moved to subforums of PbP Games Discussion, appearing fully intact the way EverQuest and World of Warcraft appear underneath Gaming. At any time, World of Warcraft could be pulled out of Gaming and placed under the mean Glade forum header with three clicks of a mouse. The same thing could be done for Kaffis if he got his game started back up again (or started a new one).

I think by threads DS means subforums.
