The new trailer looks infinitely better than the first trailer. Now I'm actually interested in seeing it.

Thor is **** boring. I hope a movie makes the odinson more interesting honestly. Especially since the movie is dedicated to white power!

So, I just realized Branagh is directing this, and that makes me very happy. I have yet to see something he's directed that wasn't top notch.

That was my take when I watched Terrence Howard in the first Iron Man. I never knew that Rhodes was a whiny *****!

Why do you think he got replaced?

He was even a whiny ***** off-camera. In one of the special features, he's complaining about the scene where he's running in the sand, because running in the sand is such hard work.

It wasn't bad. It had nice special effects. The sounds was a bit loud in the theater I saw it in. Thor isn't as interesting a character as Tony Stark or Peter Parker. It's Thor. It killed some time. Maybe the Cap movie will be more interesting.

I think the Avengers might be fighting Loki with the after credits reveal, but it's hard to tell for sure.

It opened in Austrialia last week.

Went to see this tonight. I thought it was pretty damn good. I think I'd be inclined to call it the most entertaining comic book inspire movie I've seen so far.

Then again I've always enjoyed Thor stuff.

They wanted Don Cheadle to begin with. The reason he was not Rhodey in the first movie was because he had scheduling conflicts. Or I read that somewhere at least.

Was very very good, a good mix of comedy, hammy acting, action and plot advancement. As always stay past the credits.

Saw it, thought it was fantastic.

It was...merely good. It felt like Branagh was forced to cut half an hour out of the finale. (And several parts out of the middle of the movie.)

My issues:



With those two issues out of the way: The casting was great (especially the mostly-unknown Chris Hemsworth). The costumes were great . Asgard was infrackingcredible. I could stand to see more of this.

Well that's good news to me. Those were two things I was most concerned about coming off as corny.

I thought it was good. I did think that Thor's superfriends were somewhat unnessary. Good job done by all, very well casted.

It's a common trope to shoe-horn romance plots into things...

Yes, but that's not the problem here. The problem is they didn't shoehorn it in. It just went from not there, to there, with nothing in between.

(Anyway, the Jane Foster romance is a proper part of this story anyway.)

You know, I agree, but I didn't really mind. Two reasons:

1) You knew they were going to get together, and when your audience goes into a film knowing certain things, time spent dwelling on it is time wasted. I have the opposite criticism of the the "Thor must learn to be humble" part of it, which seemed to drag on a bit too long for me, but I think it's tied into my next point.

2) The Earth-y bits were easily the least-interesting parts of Thor.

So really, given the visual splendor and grand epicness of the Asgardian stuff, I'm not sure that the whole 'stuck-on-Earth' part could ever hold its own so far as interest goes.

It was far better than Iron Man 2, and better than The Incredible Hulk. Structure-wise, I'd say it's better than Iron Man, but as fantastic as Hemsworth was as Thor (and holy ****, he was Thor), when anyone get stacked up against Downey as Tony Stark, he or she is going to come up short.

Excited for Captain America: The First Avenger. Bring it on.

I think you misunderstand me. I agree with your point here. I think there should have been another twenty minutes of Thor kicking *** at the end, and it should have been in Asgard.



Hmm. I'd put it slightly ahead of Iron Man 2, but not as good as Iron Man or The Incredible Hulk. (I actually thought Ed Norton's Hulk was a technically better movie than Iron Man, but suffered because Hulk isn't half as interesting as Tony Stark...and Ed Norton, effective as he was, wasn't RDJr.
