It's the second or third time they made it to the semifinals.

Sorry Dead Wings fans!

Now it's up to the Cubs...ahh who am I kidding?

The sharks made the western conference finals last year but lost in 4 to Chicago. Here's hoping a stronger showing this year.

They've got their work cut out for them, Rane. I believe Vancouver has a stronger team than Chicago had last year.

I'm still thinking Boston has the best chance at the Cup. Vancouver is a strong team but they've been really sloppy a lot of their games so far this playoffs.

Not usually a big Hockey fan, but have managed to catch a few playoff games. Probably due to some increased local media coverage (one of our sports stations is covering Vancouver games now), I'm officially on the Vancouver bandwagon =)

I actually agree.

Not that Boston hasn't also been sloppy. They're just...really really hard to beat 5-on-5. You gotta make them take penalties. (Or play dirty and take penalties yourself...both Boston's PK and PP are terrible. Montreal actually scored short-handed on them in the final game, and didn't allow a single power play goal in the series. Boston won that series 5-on-5.)

Boston can only beat themselves with undisciplined play at this point. (see Taly's above post about special teams play)

Boy, I thought you meant "player-killing", until I read Taly's post and had to figure out what PK and PP are. Couldn't figure out how a PvP term found its way into a hockey discussion.

You were watching the wrong game.

Sox/Yanks > anything else.

Very good read. 1/5 vs 0/4. And its not even that Boston didn't score on one of their PPs, you can not score on a PP but exert a lot of pressure and get some momentum on your side...Boston did nothing on any of their PPs.

Regardless, I really think Boston is a good squad and this will end up being a series.

Fixed that for you. You had the alligator going the wrong way. Hell, I'd watch Cowboys/Giants before I'd watch Sox/Yanks :p

And I'd hope for a 747 crashing into Jerry's Tribute to Excess at halftime.

Odd, I had always figured you to be a decent human being and not a child-molesting-rapist-terrorist-murderer.

One of my fondest dream is one in which on some warm early September Sunday afternoon the Red Sox will be flying home from a series they just got swept out of and their plane falls out of the sky into the middle of a Patriot's home game.

^exaggeration, but God I hate those two teams.
