Found a new message board for *female stuff* and joined a few days ago. I've started 2 threads and commented on 3 others. Someone asked a question, about which I happened to be very knowledgeable, and I typed out a long response...including a link to an informative article that the poster had requested.
When I clicked submit, I got a message saying that since I have made less than 10 posts, I was temporarily banned from posting links. It deleted my entire post as well.
Sooooo....I go back and retype the whole dang thing again, this time without the link, and when I hit submit, I get a message saying, no joke, that I am in a "10 minute time-out for trying to post a link" and it gives me a 10 minute counter at the bottom of the message.

WTF. A time-out? For posting a link to an article???

What if The Glade gave "time-outs" like that, hahaha! I about blew my top...I can only imagine how some of the other regular posters here might respond to that.

"You are in a 10 minute time out for being a troll/not citing a source/not being grammatically correct.....10:00, 09:59, 09:58..."

I can't believe something that petty got me so irritated. I need a life!

You can blame spammers.

Those types of rules are in place, because bots will often post links to sales items, hacking sites, etc.

On a semi-related note, I need to find a good anime board. Any recommendations?

Ask Mookhow, I believe he is the resident anime expert.

The only anime related forums I frequent are Anime on DVD and AnimeSuki.
