You know, for a trailer for a game called "Heart of the Swarm," I saw zero swarmyness. I didn't even see anything definitively Zergy, considering that Kerrigan may have been "cured" of it.

That wasn't the trailer for Heart of the Swarm. That was the tailer scene after the credits for Wings of Liberty, as far as I'm concerned. Do better, Blizzard.

If it had Kerrigan, it had the heart of the swarm. Because that's what she is. Even if she has been de-zergified. And I'm not even so sure that happened after watching this teaser.

EDIT:

Keep in mind that Blizzard didn't post this video. Someone else did(how they got the footage is beyond me). I wouldn't be surprised if this was footage from the opening cinematic.

Late 2011-early 2012. They already have the engine from Starcraft 2. They just need to craft the story missions and cinematics. If they are adding new units to multiplayer, they will need time to balance those, too. Keep in mind that when Wings of Liberty was released, Blizzard said they had an 18 month goal. It hasn't even been 12 months yet(July 2010 was when WoL was released). They could very realistically make the 18 month window. With this teaser being released/leaked, I'm pretty confident that we will see it in less than a year from now.

It's funny how the content of the video has absolutely zero connection to how the game looks or plays.

This one is official from Blizzard.

Pretty cool stuff.

They also posted the teaser trailer on the Starcraft youtube channel.

Why? It looks like the entire premise of it is to reverse the previous game's main plot resolution.

Just because she was dezerged(either partially or fully) doesn't mean she doesn't still have power(or can regain power) over the swarm. They made it pretty damn clear in the terran campaign of the original game that the zerg reacted to the psychic emanations that came from ghosts. Kerrigan is the most powerful Ghost to have ever existed, which is why the Overmind needed her for his ultimate plan. She could feasibly still retain humanity and control of the swarm. Some of the screenshots show mission titles as well. One of them was to regain control of a zerg brood.

Blizzard has never disappointed me in a single player storyline. I have no doubt whatever is going on will make sense and be fantastic.

Well...okay. I'll grant you that. Starcraft's storyline has been sensational from beginning to end. Warcraft's was great until WoW (a multiplayer game) ruined it. Diablo never had a storyline, so it doesn't count I guess.

Diablo doesn't have a deep story like Starcraft or Warcraft 3, but the story is still pretty cool. You see, most of Blizzard's storyline in Warcraft, Warcraft 2 and Diablo was in the manual. Even a lot of Warcraft 3 storyline was in the manual(it basically explained what happened 10000 years ago, gave a little insight on the Burning Legion and also said what had been going on in the world since the end of the second war) and there is a whole lot of lore about the three different factions in the Starcraft manual. Game companies don't do this anymore, which is a real shame.

Diablo puts more emphasis on the fluff than anything else. The back story is more rich than the what the player is doing. (Kill Diablo)

So 3 years to release the complete game (for $180)... when it should have been released in totality a year ago(for $60). GG Blizzard. Buncha money grubbing ***** nowadays.

That's not realistic. Wings of Liberty was already longer than the original Starcraft. Just because Blizzard wants to tell an exceptionally long story doesn't mean they should have released it all together for the same price as a standard game. Wings of Liberty was a very long, complete game all on its own.

Will it be fair to them money grubbing bastards in four years when they release the SC 2 battle chest for $90.

For those who didn't buy them at all, the price point chosen will be cheaper than buying them individually, so I don't know what the complaint would be.

Early adopter tax. It's like the people who bought their iPhones for $600. I still think Apple should've given them the finger when they started ***** that the price dropped.
