Wow, what a huge **** punch. I don't know if anyone saw this, it was free on CBS on the Strikeforce card (they were the headliners). Fedor is a Judo/Sambo practitioner and he hit pretty hard in the first round, both that opening jab by Rodgers which broke his nose and on the ground and pound.

But I think this fight just reinforces why he's considered the top heavyweight in the world and p4p one of the top. He absolutely clocked Rodgers who stands a good 5 inches taller and weighs nearly 30lbs heavier. Besides the Jose Aldo double knee KO earlier this year, that was one of the most devastating and definitive finishes I've ever seen.

I have to check this out. I havent watched any of these fights but they talk about them a lot on the Adam Carolla podcast. From what they say about Fedor he's just a beast.

This past Sunday, November 11, 2007, Fedor was decorated with an Order of Peter the Great of the first degree.

I`m sure that as long as Fedor keeps training on the same level and with same determination as he does now, he`ll continue to have no equals in Pride or anywhere else. -Voronov

- From his official site

No problem with humility there. He knows he is very very good, or at least his website creator does.

I'd sooner blame that on his handlers. The way they handled the UFC negotiations were really telling. They're just trying to ride him to as much money in their pockets as they can get out of him.

I hate when Dana bashes boxing, saying they can't put together the fight everyone wants to see: Mayweather v. Pacquiao. But he can't get Fedor on contract to fight Lesnar, so what's it matter.

Also, youtube fight, not sure how long before it gets yanked, Youtube save it while you can. I DVR'd it last night.

Even Fedor, as good and quick as his hands are, needs to fight against a boxer type. The heavyweight division needs some more technical strikers. As Rogers was walking in, I was screaming at the TV "Hands up!" I knew he wouldn't pull the trigger after watching him hesitate all fight. The only time you can walk around with your hands down like that is if you have Mayweather or Joan Guzman speed and skill and you are trying to get the other guy to let his hands go to set-up a counterpunch. I've never seen anyone in the Octagon have the skill or speed to pull off something like that except maybe Anderson Silva in his last KO against Forrest Griffin.

The announcers, do they know anything? I've rarely seen more miscalls outside of the heel announcer on pro wrestling or a Lakers home game.

Rogers never had the confidence he needed to win that fight. He is a talented fighter, I wouldn't want to face him, but Rafael calls it correctly. He didn't have the boxing skills going for a fight with Fedor.

His first jab was his best shot in the fight.

They certainly don't know how to pronounce Russian names, that's for sure. Sorry, Ukrainian, wasn't thinking there for a second.

Jake Shields v. Mayhem was pretty good, though I expected a more dominating performance from Shields after he put a whupping on Robbie Lawler at 182 lb catchweight. Lawler is a true middleweight whereas Shields and Miller are both somewhere in the middle and can make the cut down or fight at 185.

Actually, Fedor's ground skills are likely superior to his striking. I've seen every single one of his fights, most used to be available on youtube.
