It's money that does not need to be parceled out. Besides losing a few % of it on administrative costs, operational costs, defaults, etc., why are we loaning money to people who didn't have insurance to begin with? This is another thing that the government should not be doing. Tho I'm sure that these loans are always paid back in a timely fashion. Why even call it a damned "loan", it's just another giveaway. Loan implies that the money will be repaid.
All I see it the government picking the pocket of the prepared to save the unprepared from their own shortsightedness. It's part of the responsibility of home ownership, and to ones family who depends on you, to take any and all steps to ensure their well being.
