Over hill, over dale,
Thorough bush, thorough brier,
Over park, over pale,
Thorough flood, thorough fire,
I do wander everywhere.

And so the wheel turns.

It's one of our Two Seasons, but we name them a bit differently: Freeze-off-your-tits Season (October-April), and Highway Construction Season (May-September).

Summer sucks. I wish it could be late fall all year.

That's why I said "was looking forward to." Was.

We may have to concoct some sort of event... I'm not comfortable with your view of summer. I fear you may feel the same about my view of winter...

Again...

Events...

Summer is a horrendous time that tries to kill me every year. I don't understand what so many people see in it.

I'll make it simple: I hate being cold.

The number one cause of being cold in Canada is... being in Canada. :D

When I was 125 lbs, I hated being cold too. Now, 55 lbs heavier, I am the opposite. So I guess my suggestion, other than moving out of Canada is simple: gain more weight.

Look at the latitudes of the summer lovers and the winter lovers.

Summer sucks...

I have enough things conspiring to keep me from a good nights sleep without having to decide between sleeping in a pool of my own sweat, or having a portable AC blowing on me all night long (neither of which I can stand).

Fortunately, it's been tolerable so far this spring. Hopefully the Summer will be the same.

Doesn't help, still cold.

Oh, indeed. I'd probably much prefer winter if I lived in, say, Cozumel. But then, Winter in Cozumel = Summer here.

Spoiler:
Corn is gettin high
And the well is getting low
Fields are getting dry
I'm gonna catch a lizard's eye
So i got to lay low
Playing in the rye
La, la, la
Summer, summertime summer

Rattle, rattle, rattle grass
I hope that you don't bite
You can save your venom
Let me pass
I'm headed to the hive
La, la, la
Summer, summertime summer

Summer summer baby
Find me in the field
Follow my trail
Till the grain is
Higher than your ears
Bring a soft blanket baby
Lay it down for me
And roll me daddy daddy
Roll me in the wheat

Moon is on the rise
And the sun is sinking low
Swim in a lake at night
I'm gonna sing
With my cricket cicada choir
Owl on a wire
La, la, la
Summer, summertime summer

I've been in 137-degree heat and I've frozen my *** off for 2 straight weeks and I'll take the heat any day. Heat may make you sweaty, tired, and need to drink a lot of water but cold hurts. Cold is painful. Cold makes you wonder if you'll ever be warm again.

DE were not talking about those kinds of extremes. At least in my case, I'm talking about preferring daytime temps in the 60's or 70's and lows in the 40's, making sleep tolerable, vs daytime 90's and 100's, with lows in the 70's and 80's, making sleep impossible.

It's a summer vs winter climate discussion, not mojave vs arctic circle...

I know you're not. I'm saying that I prefer heat regardless of how extreme it is. I've been cold for long periods of time, but I've never been exposed to cold as intense as the heat I've experienced.

Cold hurts even when it's not that extreme. I'd rather deal with 137 degrees than freezing temperatures even if they're not that far below freezing.

Uh, yes, yes we really are...

Toronto is a fairly temperate Canadian city. I lived there for about 15 years. I'm still close enough that I have the same general climate. This is similar to the climates in Chicago or Boston, and significantly warmer than places like Minneapolis or Bismark ND.

Let's compare, we'll use fahrenheit...
January
Record High: 61
Average High: 30
Average Low: 18
Record Low: -27

February
Record High: 57
Average High: 31
Average Low: 20
Record Low: -25

March
Record High: 80
Average High: 40
Average Low: 28
Record Low: -16

April
Record High: 90
Average High: 52
Average Low: 38
Record Low: 5

May
Record High: 94
Average High: 65
Average Low: 50
Record Low: 25

June
Record High: 98
Average High: 74
Average Low: 59
Record Low: 28

July
Record High: 105
Average High: 79
Average Low: 64
Record Low: 39

August
Record High: 102
Average High: 78
Average Low: 63
Record Low: 40

September
Record High: 100
Average High: 69
Average Low: 56
Record Low: 28

October
Record High: 86
Average High: 57
Average Low: 45
Record Low: 16

November
Record High: 75
Average High: 45
Average Low: 36
Record Low: -5

December
Record High: 68
Average High: 35
Average Low: 25
Record Low: -22

Whether you're talking record temperatures or average temperatures, June-through-September are far more comfortable than December-through-March. Any part of that where the average low is less than 32F is, as Diamondeye puts it quite accurately, painful.
