That aside, my next choice would be eggs and some sort of bread.

I'm with Kate, working midnights doesn't lend itself to having a traditional breakfast. So, I tend to eat whatever is available. Bacon is always yummy! Waffles and pancakes have never been my thing. Ham and cheese omelet and hash browns are my favorite too!

Pancakes, Bacon and Fried Eggs.

Alternately, an omlette with as much stuff as can be packed into it.

Suggesting grits is heresy, and cause for termination. Pathetic doombots will not protect you from the Ordo Hereticus.

I've tried grits, in Tennessee no less, and just couldn't stomach them. Perhaps they weren't making them properly either, I don't know...or perhaps there is a way to eat them I'm not aware of that makes them palatable??

Those in the know please inform me, because I would hate to miss out on a good food because it was served improperly the last time I tried it!

An old friend of mine, now gone, was from Wisconsin. he joined the Navy, and during basic one day, ended up behind a couple of black sailors from the south. All three of them piled the grits on their plates, Rich making his a lot like we used to make oatmeal, add butter, cream, a little syrup. the black guys added salt, pepper, bbq sauce, and onions. The question of the moment was "where the hey did you learn to make grits like that?" They compared notes, became good friends during their time there, and never did agree on how to make grits.

I once tried grits in an Army mess hall. It's a wonder I ever gave them a second chance. My prep style is butter and either salt/pepper or a pre-mix like the one found on tables at Lucile's - salt/pepper/paprika/garlic/onion,etc.

I voted French Toast, Hamsteak and Fried Eggs. I love bacon, but something about a hamsteak just really touches my flavor yes-yes spot.

Any of the above, plz.

Breakfast may be my favorite meal. I just love preparing it.

No option for the hashbrowns/homefries. For shame.
