I just want to say that the chance of losing all of the enchanments on an item is the single most **** retarded mechanic ever.

I have lost two uber gold-colored items due to this BS "feature" from the Plane of Fail.

With 1.12 you can edit the chances, and not have that happen. Its in the global.dat folder.

Is that a subfolder of something else? I just went into my Torchlight main folder and saw nothing called that.

EDIT: Nm, found it, but I can't seem to open it with Works and can't seem to disassociate the file with it. It used to give me an "Open With" option, but that's disappeared.

You should be able to open it with notepad. Just Open note pad first and select the file and edit.

For Fate you could do the same type of thing too, so I made a Gorse's Augment of Awesomeness or something such uber item for the fun of it.

I did load up a demo version and while it is pretty, I wasn't that impressed. I'll stick to Fate

I think I agree. What the game mostly did for me was make me want to play Diablo again (never played Fate or Diablo II). Too bad I lost my Diablo CD.

It is mainly the things I could do in Fate that I can't do in Torchlight that bothered me. Peaking around corners (the changing camera discussion), scroll to zoom in out camera, easy to bring up map and text size being in the easily readable range (everything seemed super tiny on my 1900x1200 setting).

I tried opening "All Files" in notepad and the global.dat file wasn't even listed.

If you haven't already, edit your "Folder Options" to "Show Hidden Files and Folders".
Scratch that. I just located the file in my directory and it doesn't require hidden files & folders to be visible.
Path is (on my machine) : C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\torchlight\Pak.zip\media\GLOBALS.DAT.Adm

I didn't get mine through Steam. Got it directly from Torchlight homepage.

When I go to explorer, I can open up the Pak.zip folder and get to it that way, but when I try to open it in Notepad, it starts opening the Pak.zip file itself, instead of just expanding it to where I can select individual files. When I try to type it in manually, it says the file does not exist.
