Just a thought...

Perhaps the glades day is done. If Mook thinks it's time to walk away, might it not be best if we all did? Everything comes to an end.

Feel free. Ill miss your ornery ***, but I'm staying put. I may even pick up the tab.

The Glade has evolved over time. It hasn't been mainly a gaming board for a long time and truth be told, it continued after Sunmoon sold it as a refuge for the people who mainly inhabited the Real Life forum.

I've tried to walk away several times, but it keeps calling me back. I'll probably be staying until the lights go out.

There's still a reason I'm on this board more than any others.

Pretty much this. I would be pretty devastated if the Glade was gone for good. I need you assholes around to keep me entertained.

Ya know in the future all of this will be a hell of a great place to mine information about micro-communities in the days of the early web.

I'm back. I needed a break, for personal reasons. I apologize for creating drama; it was not my intention. My life generally goes in phases... good times, bad times. People in my guild in WoW know this; I came and went all the time.

As I told others, the only reason I posted is because I need to establish a chain of command. Now that I'm not the only admin, I can feel free to stop posting/reading whenever I need to without worrying that the board will self-destruct while I'm gone. Yes, I worry about that. Not necessarily that you guys will go crazy and start rioting, but the server will go down or some problem with the board software.

Yes, I pay $50/mo for the server, and yes I run some other stuff, primarily hosting my own web stuff there, as well as GladeIRC and Moobot/Mitsuki. No, I'm not interested in offsetting the cost.

You should leave it on the table, however. It would be a shame to lose another iteration of the Glade because you lost interest, not that I'm saying that's the case now.

What is the Glade, from a technical standpoint? It's a domain name, which Dash owns. It's a set of database tables and a set of php files. Stathol and I have full access to both of these. The server itself isn't important. I've migrated the Glade from one server to another with no problems. The most important part is the data. I could make the data available for people to download and keep, but that could have privacy issues since if you worked hard enough you could read private messages.

Hey; glad you're back.

So, uh...Moobot and Mitsuki are a bit of a mess right now. Don't panic if they have no idea who you are. That's just temporary until I can get their old user file re-merged.

Fakeedit:

Haha, I originally wrote "glade you're back" by accident. Best typo ever.

Or, if you are like me you are slightly ADD and always have other things that you feel should come before some of this stuff.

I've never been able to join the raid team in WoW, because I simply never know when I will get a chance to sit down and play undisturbed. I always feel the need to make sure everything is taken care of before I commit time.

Oh, and welcome back. ;)
