Automatic replacement only happens with misspelled words. A correct spelling of "pork" would not auto-correct to anything else, because it's valid. Typing something like "porl" or "potn" would trigger it. Typing anything will give suggestions, but not necessarily an auto-correct.

What about auto-completion?

not actually true. Example the autocorrect will change hell into he'll on my iPhone. (Very frustrating since I use hell a lot more than I use he'll) the hueristics on the iphone are pretty basic, and while it does learn some words (or more likely, pulls them out of places like the address book, etc) it is not that powerful. (I've typed he'll maybe 10 times ever, and hell perhaps 250 times, yet "hell" continues to be replaced with he'll)

Heck, even on my Nokia phones I've noticed a remarkable reluctance to learn and use certain words. It's like it was programmed by an elementary school teacher to scold me for using such "naughty language".

I completely agree with this.

Unfortunately, that is what happens here. It was a predictable course for this thread to take =)

What game? I dropped out of the only two games I was involved in(Pirates and Star Wars).

I was going to, but I never got past the conceptual phase. My heart just isn't in it anymore, unfortunately.

Not exactly autocorrect, but this is an appropriate thread...

Too perfect.

I have been through far, far too many pages of Damn You Auto Correct and look forward to too many more in the future.

The '+' symbol in the URL is ruining the link, but I found the image you want hosted elsewhere:

That's why I posted the video in the random video thread.
