On one hand I feel bad, but on the other I'm kinda chuckling. I so did not expect my post to be interpreted as anyone dying.

That said, so much for making the 600 pages last until the book's release. Grr.

In case you didn't read Kaffis's spoiler, LK, A Storm of Swords and A Dance with Dragons are supposed to be considered two halves of one book. A Storm of Swords focuses entirely on one set of characters, A Dance with Dragons focuses on the remainder.

Oh ok...thank you, I didn't read Kaffis' spoiler, and won't read any spoilers in here.
Sorry, Coren  I am 2/3 of the way through Storm of Swords and those 3 characters are all in, *predicaments* right now so when you said they weren't in the next book I just kinda thought.... heh, oops.

Whew. These books really suck you in, don't they?

Good job, shuyung, now you confirmed to her that those characters live through the rest of A Storm of Swords and A Feast for Crows! There's a reason I tagged my last post, lol... ;)

I believe he said he'd already read the first 600 pages from a download.

Btw, numb from reading overload, or numb from events and occurrences within? :)

Well to be vague enough to be safe (but still spoilering in case)...

Spoiler:
I thought I had it kinda figured out how various threads would come together...at least a general image.

Yeah, everything I thought I knew got brutally smashed to pieces with a hammer.

And now I need to wait til other people read it so I can vent!

Just finished the TV series and forgot how $#@#$^&#@ amazing the ending of book 1 was. I remember holding my breath for the final chapter.

Extra bonus, I'm off work until Monday and I just bought my e-copy of 'Dance with Dragons'....the sun is shining outside, I'm going to go sit out on the deck and read until my eyes fall out!

I've got A Dance with Dragons... and am facing a quandary.

I just finished up Small Favor yesterday morning (had the day off work) on my way to re-reading the latter half of Dresden Files in preparation for the 26th's release of Ghost Story.

The plan had been to buckle down and get reading this weekend, in order to polish off ADwD and get back to Dresden in time.

But now, I crack open ADwD and realize... a) I forgot how much more dense Martin's style of writing is compared to Butcher's, so my pagerate calculations need serious revision; and b) the foreword revealed to me that ADwD extends beyond the chronology of AFfC, which I had skipped on my reread last spring since I had assumed that the events and characters would be only tangentially relevant to ADwD -- except with the extended chronology, now some of them will be popping up and picking up where they left off, of which my memory is terrible.

So, despite the impending spoileriness bound to spring up in discussion here and elsewhere, I think I need to prioritize Dresden, since I want to finish Ghost Story before I go to the local Butcher signing on the 29th, where there's always some ******* who blurts a major spoiler in the Q/A section no matter how recently the book's been released. (Hmm. Looking at Side Jobs again, I forgot how many short stories get crammed between Small Favor and Turn Coat. The decision looks better and better...) So, 2 novels, 1 novella, and 5 short stories to go. I've got 12 days... And if I finish a little early, the first 5 chapters of Ghost Story are online.

With that.. I shall gracefully take my leave of this thread and maybe return by the end of the summer, after all that Dresden and 2 (!) more Martin books since it looks like I'll have to go back to AFfC after all.

Soooo can we start with the Dance of Dragon's questions and spoilers yet? If the answer is no, do not click on the following.

Spoiler:
Zombie Mountain that rides? Or how many damn 8ft knights are around King's Landing?

Spoiler:
John Snow = Caesar? ettt tuu night watch?

Spoiler:
So do you think the Boltons really defeated Standis and/or Mace?

Spoiler:
Will Arya's plot get worked back into the main one. Her's seems to be the most off topic one.

Spoiler:
Well reading it a second time I'm 90% sure that Jon isn't dead. Martin kept driving it home that the "boy must die so the man could be born"...and the circumstances of the knifing fits the Azor Ahai prophecy thing. ("Under a bleeding star", the star being Patreck's sigil, among salt and smoke, etc.)

As for Stannis, that worries me. Too much specific knowledge in that letter that meant it could have only come from Bolton, and would likely only know it if he was telling at least part of the truth.

And yep, I'm sure a zombie Gregor vs Sandor Clegane showdown is to come soon, probably for Cersei's trial since Sandor was with the faith in aFFC.

Especially since it has been proven that the red priests can bring some one back to life...even if they come back wrong (looking at you Lady Stone heart)

Uncle Fester,

You quoted that last part, an AFFC spoiler. I think you meant to spoiler it maybe?

I don't think they take you seriously. Maybe Dr. Doom is slipping.

No we get it, Doom does not care for the author, I for one am just not caring for his lack of care.
