Yay. :) How far along are you?

Only on episode 4 right now, but I'm really liking it alot!

Gwen from Torchwood was in an episode and I just saw Tosh too. Does this somehow connect with them being in Torchwood?

I didn't care for Donna in her first appearance. After she became a companion, however, she became my favorite of the RTD-era companions (Rose, Martha, Donna).

Incredibly minor spoilers, I guess, but I'll safeguard them behind the tag for Kirra.

Spoiler:
The reason for this is simple: she was the Doctor's friend. Never attracted to him. As such, she was his conscience, his grounding.

I liked Rose and Martha, but they both shared a very large flaw: they fell in love with the Doctor, and treated him like a god. The Doctor is not perfect, he is just a very good man trying his best to help. Donna recognized his flaws, loved him as a friend, and wasn't afraid to smack sense into him when he veered off the road.
I can see where you're coming from, and agree on principle. Donna still bugs me a bit too much for this logic to win me over, though. I'm looking forward to the next companion (sorry, Donna).

OK, I've gotten through all of the available "new" episodes and have started watching some of the older stuff.

I accept that David Tennant has out-shined Tom Baker, but maintain that no-one else has really come close to doing so. I think Amy Pond is shaping up to be my favorite companion. Hot redhead goes a long way, as does the fact that she doesn't overdo her makeup (Rose's raccoon look really bugged me at times), but it really fell into place for me when
Spoiler:
she solved the space whale dilemma.

Matt Smith is so not doing it for me, and got me started thinking about who I'd like to see replace him. Alan Rickman, anyone?

Catch up fast, Doctor Who returns on August 27th with "Let's Kill Hitler!"

And I <3 Smith. Tennant's still my Doctor. Eccleston was OK, but suffers in comparison to Tennant and Smith. :)

It took me almost the entire season to warm up to Smith, but once I did I really like him. Tenant is still better, but Smith is pretty dang good.

Prequel to "Let's Kill Hitler" (obviously, spoilers if you're not caught up).
