I swear I posted a long what a crappy year 2009 has been post Tuesday, but it isn't here now. It's been a year filled with lots of grief and financial troubles. We lost a baby (and associated doctor bills) had a sick cat (and associated doctor bills) wife found a lump in her brest and told to watch (and associated doctor bills) follow up this month has revealed it has grown, biopsy soon (her mom had breast cancer and she's worried about that, more grief and doctor bills) her grandfather passed (her father's father) and since her father passed 20 years ago we're "not" part of the family so got to pay full market price on the pieces of furnature when the uncle (wife's father's brother) was auctioning off property and continue to charge and give us grief because we've been too busy to drive a truck to Ohio to bring the items back to Atlanta (more un-expected bills and more for moving coming) the heavy rains in August cause some rain/flood damage as water got inside the house, and also turns out cause erosion which has lead to the footing to break and the brick facade is falling off the front of the house as the footing sinks away (no flood insurance [no reason to even expect to need it here] and FEMA said not as well, so repairing roof, repairing foundation, replacing the brickwork, patching the leaks, etc... is all coming out of pocket, yes more bills).

Yes, 2009 can end any time.

Foamy, god love you. For you are a lucky bastard. With the state of things have you ever thought of standing still for a little while, let the world spin under your feet and starting over when you find a new location that you like? It is sometimes easier to love your family when they are farther away.

If Oonagh wasn't so close with her parents, or if they already lived a distance away, I would have suggested years ago that we move far, far away from my parents.

Perhaps the tides are finally turning, though. See my new post in my parent rant thread for more details.

The Southwest is nice

You could always follow them to their new community. That would scare me if I were Foamy, I might even ask for a restraining order, but you could.

Oh, and to add a little more salt, the neighbor's fluffy orange colored kitten that my daughter has been playing with since April ran out into the street and got run over Friday, so we had to have a funeral for him and deal with my six year old's tears and complaints "But daddy, I really liked playing with Little Red" and "Daddy I really miss Little Red" (her name for him). =(

Fortunately we got a couple nice pictures of them a few weeks ago, but can't seem to get them to post here. I'll work on it.

Might be time to start railing them. Now the furnace is acting up. I mean.... I mean.... really?

/sigh

On a side not, as resilient as children are she's nearly past the experience. She still talks about missing him every day and she has drawn quite a few pictures (she loves to draw and uses it to help express feelings, and I should add she is very good at it too).

I started teaching last night and the next 6 weeks is going to be pretty crushing on my social life. Out of the house by 8:30 am for the day job, not likely home until 10:30 pm after class. Get home, then I have to go over notes for the next day, probably wont be sleeping until 12-1 am.

Rinse repeat.
