Ok. Must be a league manager option then.

I'll post all the keepers tonight for folks to see.

Any issues with the draft time and day so far?

What is the day/time/timezone? Been searching for that in this thread.

I will be gone friday - sunday (aug 12 - 14) out in nature. So if it happens then, I'll be SOL. *shrug* it happens

What about tonight or tomorrow night around 7 central for anyone? I go for the weekends because I figure that's the most flexible for most folks but if a week night works better, I'm all for it. I'm probably the most flexible as far as time goes.

OK, I think this is how things will will work for the keeper selections/draft. Pulled this from a question someone asked on the ESPN FF board.

Quote:
If a Fantasy Football team owner chooses not to keep the maximum number of players allowed, they will draft a new player from the available pool. The available pool will not include any players designated to be a keeper. Assuming a four team league with a maximum of three keepers, where two owners choose not to keep three players, the draft will occur as follows:

Adam - first pick - keeping 3 players
Brian - second pick - keeping 2 players
Chris - third pick - keeping 3 players
Dave - fourth pick - keeping 0 players

1st Round:
Adam obtains first of three keepers
Brian obtains first of two keepers
Chris obtains first of three keepers
Dave drafts a player from available player pool

2nd Round:
Adam obtains second of three keepers
Brian obtains second of two keepers
Chris obtains second of three keepers
Dave drafts player from available player pool

3rd Round:
Adam obtains third of three keepers
Brian drafts player from available player pool
Chris obtains third of three keepers
Dave drafts player from available player pool

4th Round (regular draft selections for all owners, snake begins):
Adam drafts player from available player pool
Brian drafts player from available player pool
Chris drafts player from available player pool
Dave drafts player from available player pool

5th Round ((regular draft selections for all owners):
Dave drafts player from available player pool
Chris drafts player from available player pool
Brian drafts player from available player pool
Adam drafts player from available player pool

Draft continues in snake order until all rosters are full.

If you have keepers there is not a setting to choose which round the keepers will be picked up in. You could elect not have keepers in the system and instead record which players each team would like to keep and ensure those players go in the respected round

I can probably be back home by 3pm (mountain) on sunday. I generally try to leave earlier in the day on camping trips.

Tomorrow works for me as well. I am good both ways.

If Adam decides not to have any keepers but Brian does can Adam draft one of Brian's keepers since Brian hasn't "drafted" yet?

No. That would defeat the idea of having keepers.

Tomorrow works for me. 4pm central on Sunday I won't be around. I have family coming over for dinner, so unless it's significantly earlier, that won't work for me. However, I don't really mind auto-drafting, so if that's the time that works best for everyone else then that's ok by me.

I am completely unavailable tomorrow. I'm with clients all day until about 10 PM EST.

I don't think I like how keepers work now that I see it in action. Bummer.

What is it you don't like? The only real change is the fact we added 4 teams and that kind of messes with the draft process for this season. We won't go any higher than 14 teams so next year, assuming everyone comes back to play, it will be business as usual. Keep two players(teams are allowed to trade anyone on their team) then draft.

So, I should do this keeper thing, it's a good thing, right? I haven't logged on yet, will tonight and see if I can get my team set up. Don't had a preference for draft day, if I'm not working, I will be there!

Its more a feeling of it seems bland & boring with all of the major talent in the league already locked up. There's no excitement or what have you looking at the drafting process to build this years team. Its more of a, "Well, all the good pieces are taken, time to pick up cast offs to plug into a team."

There is no eagerly awaiting who gets what big player or what outstanding player may slip down to a lower draft position, because just about everyone worth noting is already taken out of the picture before it even starts. I'm sure I'm the minority, but it kills the excitement for me.

You can't do keepers, you didn't have a team last year so you have no one to keep. Instead you get two very high round draft picks.

Very high? How did you know she was planning to draft Randy Moss and Rickey Williams?

I see your point. But in my case, I can't wait. I mean I have Chris Johnson...but other than that...meh...I'm glad to keep him and turn over the rest of my squad for another shot. There are still a ton of quality guys to acquire and in my opinion, because we have such a full league, it makes things much more competitive because you have to search for those hidden gems. It really puts a plus on the sleeper picks. Arian Foster is a perfect example.

Exactly. First player she'd be able to pick would be like a third round selection.

Most everyone else will have their 2 'studs' that they want to keep. She'll be piecing her team together completely from cast offs.

Kirra picks 4th actually(she lost the coin toss with Numbuk). It will go Ry, Am, Num, K then the rest of the field in reverse order to how you finished last season.

While it could turn out that way(I think there are some good players that will be available) there is always trading and WW pick ups along with rookies who could have a big impact. Plus, it goes with the whole theme of having a multi year league. Just as a new team has to sort of build from the ground up in a major sport, so would a new team to a fantasy league.

Am I missing something here? If everyone picks 2 keepers, they'll be picking the best players on their team.

That will take away the best 24 players from the draft.(I think we had 12 last year and they're all back + 2 new teams?) So then yeah, she'll be getting basically the 4th pick of the third round because the keepers are already off the board before it even starts.

That's not exactly anything to get excited over. But as I said, perhaps I'm missing something.

Also, I'm thinking of creating a new trophy. The "You got beat by a girl" award.

Really depends on who is available. Do you value a player the same way someone else does? What if a team has 4 stud players? I mean, my other 12 man league, I've got AP, Foster and my QB is Rivers. I'm not going to get to keep one of those guys and I'm sure you would agree that any of those three would be a starter for any team. Who drafted R. Torian and Blount for RB's at the start of last season? How's McNabb going to do this year? Will Stafford stay healthy?(Megatron had what 10? 12 TD's last year with scrubs throwing at him).
