My mother (who's an OB/GYN) insists you should never tell others potential baby names before a child is born. People feel free to criticize names up until the moment the child is born. She sees too many people decide on names only to have family members ridicule the names to the point they dont think they can use what was their first choice.

We have a friend who now hates one of her bridesmaids who was named Makenzie, so henceforth she is always referred to as "Mac*ntzie" evertime she talks about her, so maybe not Makenzie.

Though, Delltree herself used to suggest we start saving our children the trouble of picking out handles on the internet, and just outright name them cyb3rcat69 since that's what they'll end up going by...
