Yeah, FoxNews hosted a R Prez Primary debate in Iowa.

I'm starting to feel like I'm going insane. I keep doing the same thing over and over again, expecting different results.

Watched it in Philly with a local political group.

Ron got the cheers at the debate and where I was.

Bachman came off as a bit crazy like barely checked rage simmering.

Newt smacked a bunch but looked like a melted frosty the snowman.

Romney oozed slick grease from his hair.

Ron really got into it a bit with some calm fire backing him up.

Didn't know there was a debate. Probably wouldn't have watched it. It's still really early. I'm not quite ready to open that bottle yet.

I don't think any of them will get the nod. If Perry finally decides to officially throw his hat in the ring, the GOP would be stupid not to support him. He would kill Obama.

Yeah, I keep hearing that, but I don't know much about him, or any of the candidates really. Newt's been out of the game since before I really cared about politics, everything I've heard from Bachman tells me she's a crazy person (but she's on my list of people to pay more attention to - all that I've heard has been sent to me....), and I don't know much at all about most of the others.

The only ones I know anything about at the moment are Paul (who has no chance) and Romney (who gives me the creeps).

Paul is crazy. Romney is liberal-lite. Bachman is ok but no one takes her seriously. Cain has the business sense but isn't known enough in the political world. Newt is...whatever. The rest of them last night are just filler.

Perry has experience, seems to be pretty charismatic, and his jobs record is top drawer. He has some issues I'm sure, but I think he can go toe to toe with Obama and win.

Paul constantly ranks in the top 3 in polling in the three major polling agencies. Thats higher than McCain was polling this time last go around.

Paul would have an easier time if he'd just run as an independent. He'll never get the nomination from the Republican old guard, unfortunately.

He would never been heard of if he ran as an independent. Have you looked at how hard it is to even get on the ballot as one in most states?

Lets use Pa as an example a D or an R needs around 2,500 signatures in the state, an I or anyone else over 50,000.

Also sadly true.

The crop of Republicans running is almost exclusively shameful. Paul's the only one that would garner so much as a consideration to me.

One reason ballot access is a big issue for me. The more voices in debate the more real debate we can have.

Haven't been watching, but I'm not disputing that. The problem is, his supporters are the type that are paying attention right now. As more people start paying attention (as we get closer to the election), his percentages will drop.

If he does squeak out a Republican nomination, that's a guaranteed victory for Obama.

He has lots of good ideas, but people don't want what he's selling. The other problem is that Congress wouldn't buy it either, and I suspect he'd be destined to be completely ineffectual. I mean, it's not like he's very charismatic and will somehow manage to rally congress around him.

Hes been constantly polling both above this point last cycle and above the previous recorded vote as percentage than last election. Remember the GOP has moved a lot in his direction the major issue is economics not the war now - thats Ron's strong area. He actually pulls in the most independents and democrats when polled versus Obama of any of the R's except occasionally Romney takes the independents. From raw polling data Ron is the best statistical chance of a win.

He says the right things on a few subjects; and he mostly votes "no". That makes him, at the very least, tolerable among our politicians available. He is, however, still a career politician and should be evicted from office.

He isn't a career politician. His career has been a medical doctor which he has done for longer than he has been in politics. Hes also left politics when he didn't see a reason to be there anymore - returned to his practice - and then came back when he saw a reason to be there again.

He left - hes never been defeated in an election.

Career politician and career doctor are not mutually exclusive; nor did I say anything about his election history, Elmo. He should still be evicted from office.

Does your desire to get rid of career politicians translate to any level of support for Herman Cain?
