Getting this little girl tonight...need help with a name for her.

We currently have an 8yr old female german shepherd, black and tan named Rogue (after the X-men character)...

trying to figure out something nice/cute/cool for this new pup. My wife wanted our kids to name her but that's not working very well as all we're getting is silly names.

Gimme some help please :)

some ideas I have so far:

Storm
Artemis
Athena
Kiara
Nymeria (we're addicted to the Song of Fire and Ice books as well)

Along the X-lines,

Phoenix
White Queen (though yelling "C'mere Whitey!" may be unfortunate)
Polaris
Wolfsbane
Jubilee
Ororo (if not Storm)

And of course,

Kitty!

I agree with Farsky, her color matches Phoenix.

But I also like Silver.

That will be my next son's name.

I agree with you Foamy, people need to stop suggesting names that are already taken...

Midgen...this means you! ;)

The name Blucher does not have the most auspicious history associated with it.

Whenever picking a dog's name, you need to figure out what the quick, shortened version of the name is going to be. And you also need to figure out how it sounds when you are raising your voice and barking it sharply. This is likely how you will refer to your dog most of the time.

So while Lady Fozworth Paddington III looks awesome on paper, the dog's real name is "FOZZIE!" And the last name will likely be "GET DOWN!" or "NO!"

I like to envision someone shouting it from the porch. You should name her "Ms. Fuzznipples!" Would be hilarious shouted from the porch.

Seriously though, Epona might work. :)
