O.k. after reading the Mcdonalds robbery thread, it created a question for me to ask of you.
This is based a non news reported events over the last few days in phoenix, to my knowledge these events are true and originate from sources I trust.
Friday Three men enter a bank in north west phoenix ski masks on and guns drawn, they see bullet proof glass at the teller windows they flee. known to be driving a white SUV.

Saturday Three men enter a bank in Sun City ski masks on and guns drawn, they see bullet proof glass at the teller windows they flee. known to be driving a white SUV.

Monday White SUV parked in front of bank in Ne Phoenix People inside SUV wearing ski masks. Loomis armored Is in back of bank refilling ATM out of sight from SUV. Police are notified and before arrival SUV leaves. not to be found. Security camera footage shows 2 men peering through windows and doors.
This Bank has no bullet proof glass.
This bank has quick access from street but limited departure direction options (center divided roads, your going north sucker).
My wife is the Manager unknown to them, she has a ccw, she is permitted to carry at work by the bank( don't ask how many hoops she had to jump through for that). She carries a 5 shot .357 and has above average combat pistol training.
She also carries a special gps location alarm remote issued by the bank, 1 button alerts police and bank security to her location and that she is under threat. Response time unknown.
her desk is located in such a way she has observation of entrance, lobby and tellers as well concealment cover.
Obliviously, she's on high alert.

for history info she has been through more than one bank robbery (7 I think)
A woman rob her branch and ran out the door she chased her down had the prep hiding under a car when she flagged down a motorcycle cop.
another guy upon leaving the bank she called an ******* when he turned and looked at her she held up the remote for the dye pack and pushed the button.
another one wanted in the vault and she let him into safe deposit box vault(different from the cash vault). And locked it then shut down the air system for it.

I've warned her if they come back be careful, use your brain.
but given the history at hand what's do you think the outcome would be.

I think the outcome should be that the bank should damn well install bullet proof glass. It's pretty obviously a robbery deterrent, and failing to do so, given your senerio, would be neglect in my book.

Logistics and statistics are in play in this part, the logistics of getting glass installed quickly not likely. statistic, branches with glass have much lower performance, sales and customer satisfaction. She manages one one the top 10 branches in the region. if they put in glass she will request a transfer, she has first experience in customer relations.

I'm a little unclear of what outcome you're asking about. If they come in and rob her bank? In that case, your wife will have to very, very carefully weigh the wisdom of taking on several armed men with a 5-shot revolver (albiet a powerful one).

The outcome of them casing her bank? The bank should install the glass, and hopefully the police can ambush the robbers if they come back.

I trust her wisdom in a lot of situations, but she has tendency to let instinct take over.

If they install glass She will request a transfer almost immediately, to a branch with out glass personal interaction of tellers and staff are important to how she runs things.
I can't predict her responses in these situations, she is one of150 people in the entire corp. allowed to carry in a branch.

What I'm asking is what do you people think appropriate response could or should be?

1. Agree on installing the glass.
2. Hire extra guard. If this branch is that big, the costs would be worth it.
3. If she is going to carry a revolver, tell her to move up to a 7 shot. Get a couple of quick loaders as well.

In that situation, I'd probably move on to an auto with higher capacity mag. The easiest and probably cheapest variety being a 9mm.

Just my 2 cents. I personally love revolvers over autos, but in certain situations autos make more sense. i.e. 3 perps casing a bank.

Hopefully she can weigh the danger at hand when it happens and act accordingly.

Make use of the concealment and cover, press the alarm button and observe to see if the situation reaches a point where she believes she needs to intervene. If it were my wife, I'd counsel her that the only situation she'd need to intervene is if her life is in danger. I'd use something like: "Think of the children..." I'm selfish like that. However, your description of her prior actions lead me to believe she will interpret the need to intervene as being much sooner than that. I was going to suggest that she look into a .40 or .357 auto loader rather than a larger wheel gun for ccw purposes, those 7 round cylinders bulge A LOT, especially on someone with a smaller frame - but getting into a running gunfight 3 on 1 is exactly what she shouldn't be doing.

I agree on speed loader and a temporary armed guard.

Might also want to look into at least a class II vest and keep a supply of clotting agent on hand.

I would think having clients shot at and or robbed would be worse relations than talking through glass.

Alternatively coat a bunch of bills with a contact poison and she can hand them out with gloves on to the robbers.

She has her opinions on Glass, it is what it is. with these guys currently casing banks and 3 failed attempts already, the time frame for installing glass just isn't there. it's about a 90 process.
She has requested uniformed security for the branch, but it hasn't provided yet, those guys are just for show anyway.
it's her choice to carry the snubby 357, she's more than welcome to help her self to anything in the safe, If she wants something different she can buy it. Sportsman's is 5 mins away.
I did give her a speedloder this morning, to keep handy.

Risk mitigation is just as important as customer satisfaction, and given your story, if anyone is injured before the bank starts installing glass, I'd consider the bank at fault.
