I wasn't trying to imply that all views are expressed here equally, accurately or in the same numbers as they are in the real world, sorry if you got that impression.

What I was trying to point out (rather inelegantly) is that when views are expressed in the real world, people comment on them here. The fact that a certain meme isn't used much here doesn't mean it isn't used in the real world. In this case, precisely for the reason you cite, there aren't enough of the type of people who use the race card meme here to accurately reflect its usage in the real world. The fact that I can only think of one poster who falls back on it with regularity is indicative of it's non-use here, but not in any way indicative of its use in the real world.

This is the problem. You're painting all liberals with the same brush. (and making a ridiculous, unsupportable statement about 30-50% of the population. )

When I can see CNN, ABC, NBC, MSNBC, Daily Kos, Huffington Post, the Times, or one of them call out another liberal for calling conservatives/tea parties races, instead of encouraging it. I will believe it.

Wait, if I don't believe what someone is saying, I have to actively TELL you, or you assume I agree?

Journalists aren't supposed to offer opinions on the idiocy of the people they report on. (Thats a commentators job) --I know you've been warped by the FauxNews method of "journalism", but for the most part those other institutions you listed simply report it and let the viewers form their own opinion.

The race card usage does get old. It's very much over played.

That said, I certainly wouldn't suggest that it's an appropriate use of Obama's time to spend the first 5 minutes of each press conference denouncing these statements. If asked, he should denounce, but he's not responsible for what others say.

Of course he would never denounce it, it would be "too undignified" not to mention it benefits him immensely. Why would any rational politician of any sorts under cut such a benefit.

Just a hint, "FauxNews", while cute and all, is not a homophone for FoxNews. Of course, all the other news outlets are just fine, it's only Fox that is biased. What's the price of AA now? It may be time to add some more to my portfolio.

I get the impression you think getting butt-hurt is a bad thing. According to the guidelines I've recently been made aware of, you sir, are a homophobe!

There's more than a couple homophones on Fox News.

I thought there was a poll about the level of FarSky's gayness. It's usually 75% of the vote.

Quote:
In response to recent comments made by Indiana Democratic Rep. Andre Carson and California Democratic Rep. Maxine Waters that denigrate the tea party movement, Florida Republican Rep. Allen West — a member of both the Congressional Black Caucus and the Tea Party Caucus — sent a letter to CBC Chairman Emanuel Cleaver Wednesday requesting that the body condemn such remarks.

“As Chairman of the CBC, I believe it is incumbent on you to both condemn these types of hate-filled comments, and to disassociate the Congressional Black Caucus from these types of remarks. Otherwise, I will have to seriously reconsider my membership within the organization,” West wrote. (OPINION: Andre Carson: Serial racebaiter)

The freshman congressman declared, “It is unconscionable when a fellow CBC Member, Congressman Andre Carson, comes to South Florida and claims that some in the Tea Party would love to see black Americans ‘hanging on a tree.’ It is appalling to hear another CBC colleague, Congresswoman Maxine Waters, say ‘The Tea Party can go straight to hell.’”

West added that Carson’s comments, which caricature the tea party movement as a group of racists, are “baseless” and “desperate.” West reiterated that the movement is focused on fiscal responsibility and American exceptionalism and wrote that the the CBC should be working to end the “balkanisation” of America. (RELATED: Rep. Allen West decides against campaign for Senate)

“As a member of the CBC, I look forward to working with you to help end this practice. All of us, especially Congressman Carson, Congresswoman Waters and others who have engaged in racially-motivated rhetoric, should follow the example of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., not the example of Reverend Jeremiah Wright,” West added, concluding that he hopes to work with the CBC to bridge divides.

Amusing the one CBC that is a republican is against calling other people racists.

Let's see if he actually follows through with his reconsideration of membership when the chair fails to act first.

That said I think someone still needs to start the Congressional White Caucus.
