The video is 24 years old. Here's a more recent shot of the girl in the video. Its from 2006.

Reportedly it helped land her a gig on Celebrity Rehab 2

Written in regards to other soldiers... but still appropriate.

She's no Kermit the Frog, but she gives it a good try.

This morning, I got 2 earworms at the same time, and they spent most of the day competing for my attention:

Wish I had a Blue Bayou to go to.

I feel so bad I got a worried mind
I'm so lonesome all the time
Since I left my baby behind
On Blue Bayou

Saving nickles saving dimes
Working til the sun don't shine
Looking forward to happier times
On Blue Bayou

I'm going back someday
Come what may
To Blue Bayou
Where the folks are fine
And the world is mine
On Blue Bayou
Where those fishing boats
With their sails afloat
If I could only see
That familiar sunrise
Through sleepy eyes
How happy I'd be

Gonna see my baby again
Gonna be with some of my friends
Maybe I'll feel better again
On Blue Bayou

Saving nickles saving dimes
Working til the sun don't shine
Looking forward to happier times
On Blue Bayou

I'm going back someday
Come what may
To Blue Bayou
Where the folks are fine
And the world is mine
On Blue Bayou
Where those fishing boats
With their sails afloat
If I could only see
That familiar sunrise
Through sleepy eyes
How happy I'd be

Oh that boy of mine
By my side
The silver moon
And the evening tide
Oh some sweet day
Gonna take away
This hurting inside
Well I'll never be blue
My dreams come true
On Blue Bayou

So we were flipping through the channels the other night, and came across something that sounds like it's straight out of a strange late-night-snack-induced dream... a PBS special where Hugh Laurie is playing the hell out of a piano and Tom Jones is singing, and they're in a blues joint in New Orleans.

Apparently Hugh has an album out, where he sings, plays guitar, and plays piano. And he's joined by Tom Jones on at least one song.

I can't find a youtube recording of the PBS show, so here's the best live recording I could find:
