Sorry, don't want to be responsible for your face when you pack it in. Seems like a little too much bike for you, at this stage. Heck, it would take me a good 5 weeks to get used to that.

Bah! I could take it around the Red Rock loop NP!

Although, hitting 70 on the long long downhill would be absolutely *terrifying*.

He's right Mus, you would get cocky and take stupid risks. We don't want to have Darkseige typing your obituary here in tears (of laughter perhaps) because you sailed off a mountain side while pumping your fist in the air. Besides, who would make the Turducken in a couple months?

No, you cannot have a $17,000 road bike.

What would you want mentioned in your eulogy?

C'mon, it's a bicycle; unless I missed the jet engines or something I don't get the "You're gonna die if you have this..."

Pardon my stupidity, but what in the unholy blazes makes this bicycle worth $17,000?

If they sent me my very own Italian mail-order bride to suck my dick and make me pasta while I read it, I could see the appeal.

I'd spend $60 for that. I loves me some pasta.

Get a Ferrari 458.

We have hills out here. Actually, mountains. In addition to that, I have a problem with speed. The temptation for me to take my novice *** out to Red Rock, ride it up the loop and proceed to see just how fast I could go down the back stretch would be too great.

I would end up as chunky red moose salsa as I came off at 70 mph with nothing between me and the road but a thin layer of lycra.

Looking at the component list (Hell, the Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 groupset is ~5k), the frame, wheels and custom fit service... I can see 10k easy. Toss the Ferrari name on it, limit it to 200 units, and yeah, I can kinda see it.

You don't need seventeen thousand dollars worth of bicycle to turn yourself into red arafys salsa going down a steep hill.

Where that bike is really going to pay off is getting up there in the first place....

Is it even street legal, everything it says is about track racing.

Not concerned with street legal, but with a second seat I can plummet to my death with him. :-)

Just because your town is dying doesn't mean you have to go out with it.
