Aaaaaand 6 months after I sign-up for Diaspora, (or rather, its "waiting list for invites"), I get an email this morning with a lengthy excuse about development taking a long time because of perfection or something and a reminder to keep waiting patiently.

I think the timing of Google+ distracted everyone from Diaspora, unfortunately.

Yes, I'm no longer interested in Diaspora now that Google + is out. They waited too long.

I would think that people turned off by Facebook's privacy policies would have similar objections to Google+, since in many ways they are similar.
