Strangely, I like Smith better than Tennant. Its close, but Smith is just edging Tennant out.

Can't think about Dr. Who without thinking about this (linked to me).

Series 6 wrapped last night with "The Wedding of River Song." Insane brilliance, or brilliantly insane. So so good.

I know I’m late on this but I had to watch "The Wedding of River Song" again because there was just so much to take in. On second viewing it was much clearer for me.

Random highlights in no particular order:

-- The visual imagery of London stuck in time. Wow.
-- Dorium Maldovar (Mecca lecca hi, mecca hiney ho!)
-- The effect the passing of The Brigadier had on the Doctor (a reference to the real-life passing of actor Nicholas Courtney earlier this year).
-- Live chess.
-- A steam train running through the Great Pyramid which turns out to be Area 52
-- Rory getting another badass moment
-- Amy dealing with Madame Kovarian
-- Rule #1: The Doctor lies.
-- The Doctor’s acknowledgement that "My friends have always been the best of me".

Special mention has to be made of the Doctor’s attempt at matchmaking:

“She said that you were a Mister Hottie-ness, and that she would like to go out with you for texting and scones."

And last, but not least:

Amy: So, you and me. We should get a drink sometime.
Rory: Okay.
Amy: And get married.
Rory: Fine.

Best. Marriage Proposal. Ever.

So I'm watching Dr. Who for the first time (the 2005 incarnation). I'm currently on Season 4 Ep. 7, The Doctor's Daughter. Few things I noticed... the actress (Georgia Moffett) that plays the Doctor's daughter is freaking hot. Second, she is actually the Doctor's daughter in real life, being the daughter of Peter Davidson who played the Doctor back in the early 80s. She is also the wife of the Doctor, as she married David Tennant who played the doctor from season 2 up through at least season 4 that I am on. So she's the doctor's daughter and wife. How's that for a family tree.

As far as her family tree goes; not only is her father the 5th Doctor, but her mother was Trillian in the original BBC production of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Pedigree indeed.

Phe and I just started watching DOCTOR WHO tonight...the 2005 reboot with Christopher Eccleston (thanks, Netflix!). Never seen anything WHO-related before. Watched the first two episodes, just starting the third. I like it. :)

I started watching this a couple of days ago. I just finished the first season with Eccleston. What seemed like a happy little Sci-fy adventure story turned around and ripped my heart out. Love it.

The "Are you my mommy" line in The Poison Sky sealed me in for the long run. That was just great.

Ok...finished with all that Netflix has to offer. It is going to be a long *** wait I fear. I've now started on Torchwood.

Did you make sure to watch the Tennant specials? Netflix lists them outside of the main show. They come after "The Next Doctor" and before "The Eleventh Hour" (Matt Smith's first ep as #11). "Planet of the Dead," "The Waters of Mars," and "The End of Time" parts 1 and 2.

Yep. When I saw that it went right from Tennant to Smith without reason, I went looking and saw them.

Ah, cool. It's confusing, and I wish Netflix didn't listen them like that. :(
