I agree 100%. Maybe we could start a class action for emotional damage.

Yeah I got those emails too. But I chalked it up to me missing an actual beta invitation over a year ago, but still being on some beta list.

Interesting.

I think the technical terminology for that is "cocktease."

I'm semi interested in this game now. Anyone following it closely? Are the majority going Empire or Republic?

I'm playing Empire in beta because I don't want to ruin the Republic storyline by playing them in beta.

Empire all the way. Maybe a couple years down the road I'll try the Republic side.

I'm in the Beta. Starts Friday afternoon so hopefully I'll be able to get a good feel for it.

Question is what class to play. Hmm.

Ditto, Dash. I was debating whether or not to even bother, but then I noticed that it doesn't require an Origin install. Okay, I'm down with that, I suppose, so long as I don't have to tacitly endorse Origin. They already rolled my SWTOR site account into the Origin thing, anyways.

Problem is, of course, that I don't have a lot of time this weekend. Saturday's pretty much completely out due to work and some social obligations after, and a good chunk of Sunday to social stuff, as well.

Yeah me too. Not sure how much I'll get to play but I want to at least see the systems they have in place, check out the abilities and such. Performance etc.

I did the Origin thing to try out Battlefield 3. The UI on that game is atrocious. I want thrilled about installing Origins platform either.

I'm literally boycotting Origin the client.

In any event, it does appear, looking at the forums this morning, that there's a good probability, at least, of getting serially re-invited.

It also amuses me that, the second weekend beta in, there's already rampant seeds of elitism based on when the RNG picked you, with "1020 sound off!" and "Can we get titles according to our test group number?" threads.

Haha yes I feel it was a major personal accomplishment to get a randomly selected email invitation. I hope you appreciate the stature of this effort and award me with a proper title and virtual items.

I made a knight on drexl. Only started though so I can recreate.

Knight's name is Narue.

I'd started on the C-one, but didn't get much time before I ducked out. By now, you've probably logged more.

I don't mind trying a few things differently anyways, to see how much the dialogue trees change. Weslyn is a consular, despite my complete apathy towards the "I'll rip stuff out of the ground to throw at you" style powers.

You're not missing a ton from my experiences. Picture WoW mechanics with a few tweaks that's quite polished but with a Star Wars theme.

The seamless transitions between instanced area's & non instanced area's is pretty nice though.

Pretty much that, just imagine WoW with star wars graphics. However, the cinematics to start the game are amazing (and I believe most of them are up on youtube/etc).

I got to play for about an hour last night so far (all before I posted). Hoping it gets deeper, but I'm not expecting much. This beta should be for months, I have no free time over the weekend, dammit!

You know, I keep hearing people say "It's WoW with Star Wars," like it's a bad thing. I really can't see how that's a bad thing at all. I mean, it's fraking Bioware and Star Wars. At this point, I could care less if they sold me a WoW box with a yellow sticky note covering up the title that said Star Wars written with a sharpie. I'd still buy the damn thing.

And yea, I'm still waiting for my damn invite. I'm starting to think they lost my email address. I mean, my friend that isn't even interested in the game and won't be buying it at all got an invite. And I check the site everyday, and already pre-ordered and everything. Yet no invite. :(
