It is not by fiat. Ive already posted the text of the man's pre-rampage letter, and in that letter, he specifically names the right wing hate book that inspired him to go kill people. That's a direct connection between hate speech on the right and a terrorist attack against liberals.

Furthermore, your comment here serves absolutely no purpose other than to extend criticism to a poster, and not the post. Why would you want to waste all our time in such a fashion?

The fact that almost everything you declare is only asserts your opinion on the matter and that it's clear as "daylight" to you (which isn't even clear since the atmosphere is a participating medium) but not to anyone else.

Thus, every thing you post is predicated on something that cannot be proven or disproven.

How is that an infraction of the board rules? He insulted "the Left", not you. You admitted to making ad hominem attacks against people not members of this board such as Rush Limbaugh (not that I'm defending Rush).

I was told, point blank, that reporting posts actually meant that the reporting person was at fault. Also, that the rules were not rules, but merely guidelines. This opinion was shared by the mod staff and supported by Dash. *shrug*. There are no rules. The degradation of our discourse over the last few days seems to support it. People are tossing around personal attacks, criticizing posters and not posts, indirectly attacking people via their associations, and generally ignoring the rules at the top of the board. If the moderators are fine with the tone around here, then why bother following those rules at all?

I don't think you understand what I told you.

Since I've seen no board rule that prohibits insulting vaguely-defined political groups, I don't really see how that pertains.

Why don't you stop trying to use the board rules as a weapon and then complaining we have none when it doesn't work, and address some points instead? I'd be willing to be if we charted reported posts compared to days on which you've posted we'd see a pretty strong correlation.
