Being unemployed, one must make certain sacrifices. The latest one is my beloved Avalanche. As sad as I am to see it go, I *loved* that truck, but with gas costing what it does, and the payment being what it is, when I got an offer on Monday from the dealership I bought it at to buy it back from me @ 2k over KBB... I had to at least go check it out.
Mom and I got in the Av and drove to the dealer to look at what they had for sale. I was looking at the new Chevy Equinoxes, and test drove one of those and liked it. So the sales guy goes and comes back with the offer that the one (LT Trim) I drove would be in the high 4's for a monthly payment with the no money down that we could offer. That then, was that.
But wait! Maybe there was an LS Trim or something lightly used that we could look at for the payment range I wanted. Off we went to the side lot. This Saturn Vue? No, too beige. This Nissan Xterra? Oh, god no, someone smoked 9 packs a day in here. How about this 2008 Malibu? 20k miles, black on black... Ehhh... maybe... Test drove it and I wasn't thrilled. Nice car, but not Moosey enough. To the back lot then! In the back lot, they had a black on black TrailBlazer with low miles and very clean. I told the salesguy to get the numbers for that one. He said he had one more place to go and took us to the top level of the parking garage to see another Saturn Vue that was just turned in on Sat. Up we went to the top level of the garage.
Driving through the cars up top, my attention was on the left on another black Equinox, and we rolled to the end of the line to get to the Vue. Hated it. Base model, beige on beige. Repressing the urge to vomit, I walked away down the line to the Equinox I saw.
Then I saw it.
A flash of yellow out of the corner of my eye.
I said, and I quote, "OMFG, you have a GTO!"
The salesdude said "Yeah, its a 2005, and has 10k miles."
I made this face: O.O
So, long story short:
And its cheaper than the Av by a bit more than a hundred bucks a month.
