I'm guessing if you map the centroid you'll find it drops at a constant 32 ft/sec^2

And, if it doesn't, it's magic and only AC Clarke can explain it.

Of course. But there's the spring force pulling each end toward that centroid, so the lower end doesn't fall, and the upper end accelerates faster than 32 f/s/s (if this is already said in the video, i apologize - watched w/o sound)

Not much was said that I heard, more of a "double rainbow, what does it mean?" kinda presentation.

No science was killed during the making of the movie.
